"Hanako-kun! Can you let me skip a day in cleaning? There's an important event after school, so maybe...", Nene asked timidly while crossing her fingers behind her back.
Hanako stopped staring out the window and gazed at her. He looked serious for a second, then later on his expression changed. He grinned mischievously and answered.
"No~
"Why? Why wouldn't you let me enjoy—"
"Wait! Let me finish first... No, you can't go alone to that event because I'll be accompanying you! Isn't that go—ouch! Why did you do that, Yashiro?"
"You rotten little—whatever! I'm just gonna clean. I've lost my interest when you said you'll join..."
"Come on, Yashiro... Why wouldn't you let me—Ahhh! You already have a boyfriend! Do you? Poor boy... I know that lately it's the young—ouch! What's that for?"
"Baka!", Yashiro spat as she continued cleaning.
And for the rest of the afternoon, she gave Hanako a cold treatment.
"Hey, Yashiro, you can't be that angry, right? Come on, my precious assistant, don't give me that cold shoulder, or else..."
Yashiro just ignored him and proceeded to their room. She was about to enter their classroom when she noticed something. She went near the window and squinted her eyes. It was her best friend, Aoi.
'But why would Aoi go to the pool area this time?'
She looked again, but this time Aoi's gone.
She frowned because it hadn't been a minute since she looked away. She couldn't have walked away that fast.
"Nene-chan, what are you doing? Aren't you going inside—"
She turned her gaze away from the window and almost jumped in shock when she saw it was Aoi speaking.
"You—I thought you were out there... I mean, I saw you near the pool area just a minute ago. Don't tell—"
Aoi giggled. "That can't be possible, Nene-chan. I was just at our classroom a while ago... Maybe you're just tired or you just mistook me for other girls. Come on, let's just get inside because I'm sure Tsuchigomori-sensei will arrive soon."
Yashiro felt uneasy since the day she saw the other Aoi, and it seems the fate is teasing her that week because the unlikely appearance of her started to become frequent, but as soon as she took her eyes off her, the other Aoi disappeared. This bothered her so much because she didn't know if what she saw was true or just a figment of her imagination.
"What's wrong, my precious assistant? Don't tell me you're still angry with me because I didn't let you go with that after-school event... Come on, I haven't even called you daiko—Ouch! Why—"
"Hanako-kun!"
"Ok—ok, what's the matter? It's been a while since I saw you looking worried... Is it about your boyfrie—Ok, ok, it's not about your boyfriend... Please stop giving me that death stare—fineee...what is it?"
"You see, I've been seeing Aoi a lot lately—"
"Wait—what?! Did you like he—Ouch!"
"Let me finish first!"
"Ok, ok, fine—continue..."
"So yes, that's it. I've been seeing her a lot lately, but it's strange because it can't be her..."
"Huh? You say you saw her a lot lately, but why can't it be her?"
"It can't be here because whenever I saw that other Aoi, she was from another, farther place. Like, for example, I'm here, and I saw her near the pool area, and then when I looked away for a second, she was gone, and I'll see her again in the classroom—there's no way she can walk that fast. It's the pool area and our classroom; it will be impossible—"
Their talk was interrupted when the door of the toilet room opened. Both shocked, they turned their gaze to the door and became more shocked when they saw it was Aoi. Nene was dumbfounded for a moment.
"You're here, Nene-chan. I thought you'd be in the classroom because—who's that? Is that the Hanako-kun you've been telling m—"
Before Yashiro could react, Hanako immediately lunged forward at Aoi. He pinned her down swiftly and pointed the knife at her.
"Hey, what's wrong? Help me Nene-chan! It seems Hanako-kun didn't know me. I'm her best friend, Ao—"
"You're not..."
"What are you saying, Nene-chan? I am Aoi... Come on, I know you're—"
"I haven't told Aoi yet about Hanako-kun, so you're definitely not her," Yashiro answered seriously.
Upon hearing this, the other Aoi's expression changed, and in just a blink of an eye, she's able to break free from Hanako.
"I see, I see, it's my fault then... I thought you two were close enough to share secrets, but it seems it's not... yet. But you're sure close with the honorable seven, so this isn't bad... I could just take you and make y—"
Hanako didn't let her finish when he unhesitatingly lunged toward her. The other Aoi seemed to anticipate his attack because she easily dodged and returned a counterattack. Hanako was caught off guard and got wounded a little. This made the other Aoi cackle, and the next thing she did was to try grabbing Yashiro. However, before her hands reached her, it was sliced in the midair. Instead of blood, black smoke emitted from her severed wrist.
Hanako quickly grabbed Yashiro, who remained frozen due to shock.
"I wouldn't like to use violence in front of my assistant, but you leave me no choice...", Hanako said grimly while pointing his knife at her.
"So the honorable seven is showing his true colors now—not surprising... but you will stand no chance—"
"Hakujoudai!"
The white orbs immediately seize her, but she dodges them. However, because she's preoccupied with them, she doesn't notice Hanako behind her. Yashiro thought that he was going to stab her, but Hanako just slashed the necklace from her neck. Before the necklace fell onto the cold floor, the other Aoi began disintegrating.
"How... how did you—," she muttered before she completely disappeared into thin air.
"What ha—happened?", Yashiro asked in confusion.
"That was really foolish of her to bring her yorishiro...maybe she's just too confident. Anyway, we're all safe now! The bad Aoi's gone, so you'll not be bothered with her again!"
Yashiro stared at him.
'There's still a lot of things I want to know, Hanako-kun...', she thought while staring at him. 'But I guess this is fine for now...'
"Oh my! Stop staring at me, Yashiro! I know you're probably thinking about naughty stuff, so qu—Ouch, ouch, stop! Stop!"
Yashiro just smiled while hitting him, and when Hanako saw this, he smiled genuinely. He caught Yashiro's fist and pulled her close. He stared at her intently and said, "Yashiro..."
Seeing his face up close, Yashiro blushed.
"Ha—Hanako-kun, what are you doing?
Hanako smiled again. "I didn't know daikons could hit this hard—"
"Hanakoooooooo!"
END...
...?
Somewhere in Kamome Academy
A black, smoky orb appeared in a dark room.
"My! my! Where's Amaneee?!", a cute voice demanded while jumping excitedly.
"So-sorry, he immediately saw through my plot, and also the girl—I thought I could use her, but—"
The black orb didn't finish talking when a hand grabbed it. The hand tightened against it until it burst into pieces.
The boy looked at the tiny piece that tried to float back again. He coldly gazed at it before trampling it with his shoes.
'Amane... I'll see you soon.'
So that's it! This is really the longest fanfic plot I've shared. Technically this isn't just a plot anymore because it's more like a short story. I got really motivated, and I really missed writing short stories, so why not make one with the mystery plot I've imagined? It's based on Toilet Bound Hanako-kun, which is currently airing its second season! I really like supernatural stuff, so I did really have fun imagining the plot behind this one.
Btw, the other Aoi was inspired by a Filipino mythical creature—hunyango. Hunyango are Filipino mythical creatures that can copy and take the form of anyone. They are creatures that cause chaos and confusion, but they usually won't harm people anyway. That's where my twist comes in because it turns out the other Aoi isn't just alone in that plot. I know the TBHK fans know who that little boy is, so yeah! I hope you enjoyed reading through my entry for Wild Plot Wednesday. Thanks for being with me, and until next time minna-san! Jaaaneee!

Likewise! It's a pleasure sharing it here—best regards as well.
This playful exchange between Nene and Hanako perfectly captures their chaotic dynamic, but the mysterious glimpse of Aoi near the pool adds an eerie twist that leaves me curious about what's really going on.
Thanks for the comment, @gelultimate! I'm really glad you had read through it, and yep, I did intend the Aoi part to be the center of the mystery—honestly, I think I should have built up more tension, but that would really lengthen further the story... so yep, I just stick with the shorter version of the mystery I managed.
Btw, thanks for stopping by, @gelultimate! See you around~
