Hello again to my fellow creative minds here in Hive! I'm back again with another movie recommendation, but now let's have an anime edition. I hope you'll have a great time reading this blog!

The reason why I decided to make this blog is because I want to share a part of me that might have the potential to help you in ways that it can. That's why if you ever find yourself seeking comfort and peace, I hope that these movies will become a home for you. Another reason is that I want you all to realize that you can find comfort in things that you don't usually do.

These movies are made by Hayao Miyazaki and Isao Takahata. They crafted these masterpieces to convey the beauty of a deep and emotional way of telling stories to people.

First, we have here "Howl's Moving Castle" or "Hauru no Ugoku Shiro". It is an enchanting film that follows a young woman named Sophie. Sophie was being cursed by an old lady and decided to search for a way to break the curse. Upon searching, she stumbled on a moving castle of a wizard named Howl. That moment marks the story of both individuals tied in circumstances that became an unconditional love afterwards. What I love in this movie is the animation, the characters, the plot, the music, and the emotions hidden in every corner of the story. Other than that, one thing that I learned in this movie is the importance of self-acceptance and love for oneself. It is a kind of movie that will teach us that love is also a form of courage.

Second is the movie named "Spirited Away" or "Sen to Chihiro no Kamikakushi". It talks about this 10-year-old girl named Chihiro. Chihiro with her parents decided to move to a new place. Upon going there, they discovered an abandoned amusement park and decided to explore. Chihiro's parents became pigs after they ate the foods that are meant for the spirits, and that's when the story of searching for an answer to save her parents begun, and met the boy named Haku. The character development that I love in this movie is how Chihiro became a courageous individual. The experiences and the things that she encountered made her one. It is the movie that widened my perspective about the art of trying and making things possible for our loved ones one way or another.

Third on the list is "Ponyo" or "Gake no Ue no Ponyo" in Japanese. It is one of my comfort movie that revolves on a goldfish princess named Ponyo. When Ponyo was young, she dreamed of becoming a human with feet to walk and a hands to hold. With that, she decided to escape from her home and met this young boy named Sōsuke. Upon being Sōsuke, Ponyo became a human girl and formed a relationship with Sōsuke. As she continuously used her power, it caused a disruption of nature and brought challenges and adventure to the characters. The movie taught me the value of balance and limitations in everything that we do. It also portrayed friendship and love which are the beautiful forces and gifts that life can offer to us. Aside from that, the underwater scenes also made this movie beautiful and noteworthy to watch.

Fourth is the movie named "My Neighbor Totoro," or "Tonari no Totoro" in Japanese. It is an inspiring movie that talks about these two young sisters named Satsuki and Mei. Their family decided to move to the countryside to be close to their hospitalized mother. The house that they live in is surrounded with tall trees and grasses. In the nearby forest, the two young sisters found these different creatures, including Totoro, known as the gentle and mysterious forest spirit. Their adventures with the forest creatures allowed them to build a wonderful bond with Totoro. That's the start of their magical lives in the countryside. What I love in this movie are the beautiful moments and adventures that capture the true definition of innocence and childhood. The movie made me reminisce about the childhood that I once had, and I can say that this movie is the most comforting one.

Lastly is the movie "The Secret World of Arrietty," or "Karigurashi no Arrietty" in Japanese. It is a soothing movie of this tiny 14-year-old girl who csme from family of borrowers or dwarf people. They live in secret parts of walls and floors and borrow items from humans for survival. One day as Arrietty and her father borrowed some pieces of sugar, he met this human boy named Shō. They formed an unlikely friendship and soon enough it has come to an end. The movie illustrates the harmony and beauty of living with nature and the importance of understanding one's differences and lives. It taught me the value of understanding others' distinct characteristics and traits and accepting them for who they are. With that, we can build an inclusive, harmonized, and peaceful society.

All in all, these movies gave me some wonderful experiences and memories. They didn't just bring life lessons, but they also served as my way of seeking comfort in this chaotic reality that we have. Therefore, we should always keep in mind that sometimes when things seem out of control, it is better to escape for a while and make the most out of your time. Either you will watch your favorite movies, paint, read, dance, and write; please allow yourself to pause and have the rest that you deserve.

Hurrayyyyy! You're now at the end of this blog, and I am so happy that you are here. Thank you so much for taking the time to read and visit my blog. I hope that you have learned something from me, and remember to always keep your smile! 🍓
