Supporting characters rarely get recognition but their roles are very important because they help bring out the main character's personality, not to mention they also have interesting personalities and life stories, adding flavor to the whole story.
I have a couple of favorite anime supporting characters. If it's alright, I'd like to mention three.
This post, by the way, is an entry to kuronokenshi's "Anime Blogging Challenge". If you would like to participate, please click the link to see the details.
♥ HATAKE KAKASHI

Those who abandon their friends are worse than scum.
Who would ever forget this power friendship quote by Kakashi sensei? (originally from his friend, Obit Uchiha) I was moved by his real goal for the bell test during the Chuunin exam.
There are lots of awesome supporting characters in the Naruto universe but the silver-haired masked sensei have caught my attention since the beginning. I like calm, cool, and strong characters. (humor and attractiveness is a plus) And Kakashi fits all those criteria.
Kakashi is a dependable sensei and comrade who stood like brother/friend to Naruto. He is a humble ninja who probably have never had an ambition to become a Hokage but still did his best when Tsunade stepped down. I also find his habit of being late very relatable, one of the reasons why he immediately caught my attention. Lol.
♥ LEVI ACKERMAN

Like, who wouldn't? The "tiny old man" is humanity's strongest soldier in Paradis, no wonder why he is a very likable character and had won the hearts of many Attack on Titan fans. There's also a scarce of excellent survey corps soldiers in the story so he stands out like a sore thumb despite being small. 😂 He immobilized the female titan and went head-to-head with the beast titan a couple of times. Well, thanks to his Ackerman blood.
Despite having a rough personality and being uninterested to most things except for tea, cleaning, and Erwin (coughs), Levi is a great supporting character for me. I guess what I also like about Levi is his contrasting character, a dirty-mouthed clean freak. Haha. He is also calm but turns to a brutal beyblade monster in front of his enemies. He does the most painful tortures with his enemies. Eren even got a taste of it in season one. Now I came to a conclusion that some strong characters are calm and quiet because they are reserving their strength.
Levi is probably among the supporting characters that are more popular and liked than the main character. (This small man got an army of fangirls and Zeke doesn't know it, unfortunately.) In fact, he has a solo bronze statue in Japan.
♥ GOJOU SATORU

The latest addition to my husbandos, I mean supporting characters, is Jujutsu Kaisen's Gojou sensei. Why? Oh well, he just reminded me of Kakashi the first time I saw him. Silver spiked hair, blindfold, and a sensei. They also have very similar personalities (screams). They're both calm, strong, cool, funny, and attractive. Both of them also have the habit of being late. And while Levi is Paradis' strongest soldier, Gojou is the strongest sorcerer in the Jujutsu universe.
By the way I am describing Gojou, you might think he is just a replica of those two above. Well, compared to Kakashi, Gojou has a more playful personality even during battles. And he has the most prettiest eyes too. Didn't expect he would reveal his eyes soon. I thought he would be like Kakashi who took hundreds of episodes before he showed his entire face.
I like how calm and cool-looking he is during battle. When you're the strongest, there's no reason to feel an inch of fear, right? Well, I've only seen the anime, it's probably a different case in the manga. I wonder who would win if he fights Sukuna. I like how Gojou gets a lot of screen time on the opening and ending videos too. And I still can't get over that it's Gojou dancing to the chorus of Lost in Paradise instead of Itadori. Lol. But that part suits his character so well.
So there goes my favorite anime supporting characters. I'm afraid I just ended up fangirling, but I can't help it when these are the characters I have to talk about.
How about you? Do you have any favorite anime supporting characters?
