I love AMVs. If you grew up watching anime you most likely went to an anime convention and at those conventions it was tradition to have cosplay, AMV and video game contests. And if you never got to go to such a convention, if you're between 20 and 36 years old you've most likely seen the videos of iconic anime fights with songs by Linkin Park or Evanescence. Over time those edits stopped coming out, but with the arrival of reels and tiktok they started to resurface and I've seen many good ones; anyway, this introduction is to say that I recently saw an amazing AMV of an anime that didn't have much fame but that I loved, so I've decided to talk about some animes that are a complete gem but don't have the recognition they deserve
In 2007, Madhouse released one of the most addictive anime I've ever seen in my life Kaiji , and the truth is that's a lot. An anime about a gambler who gets involved in some very macabre gambling games that end up being a kind of battle royal where only one person will come out of it alive. A plot very similar to the very famous squid game, and why is the squid game so addictive? Because human beings have something with gambling that is almost an instinct, a subject that touches the series in a very existential and nihilistic way, showing not only an addictive story but also some moral dilemmas that will make you rethink some things in your life.
Continuing with The great pretender, when WIT studio gave the news that they were not going to continue with the production of Shingeki no Kiojin many times they were asked why and the answer, although a little disappointing, was clear "we got bored". That's what the studio's bosses said, stating that they wanted to adapt other kinds of stories with a completely different animation style, and one of the first anime they made after leaving SnK aside was the great pretender, an anime about a swindler with some twists, a direction, a color palette and an animation that is not very typical, but that will surely stay with you for a long time. An anime where Wit knew how to show where they wanted to go (because after ousama ranking animation) and that is available on netflix.
And Finishing with Odd cab, an anime that came out in 2021 that I couldn't believe. One of those albums of a single season and few chapters that seem like a jewel lost in time, that you need people to watch it because of how incredible it is. An anime that stood out neither for its character design nor its animation, but for the way it told you a story, unraveling one knot while putting together another and showing a number of charismatic and interesting characters along the way. Odd Taxi was that anime that comes out once every few years and, I think, didn't get the chance it should have had because it starred animals.

Odd cab and The great pretender are both amazing, specially Odd cab for it's super original plot. Definitely worth watching em.
Odd taxi is an anime that I have to recommend left and right for anyone in the industry. It is an incredible work.
hahaha I remember two anime for the anime part that made me watch those anime, one was Cradle of Filt for Ninja Scroll it's the perfect soundtrack for that anime Hallowed By The Name which is also a cover.
The other one was Tornado of Souls for Bleach, it had the battle with Ikkaku's baldy hahaha, I watched the anime for that battle and I ended up finding Aizen a God among Us haha 😃
And is that they had to disappear, is too much copy haha but if I have noticed that return, in my case I watch a lot youtube only, no tik tok or instagram etc nothing like that and if I have seen channels that their shorts with these songs now for the current part as they enhance those anime and how not to do it if it is the best in songs haha.
Wow I've noticed that you see a lot of anime, in my case just adapting to this world that has amazed me, is happily taking hours of my haha, the Kaijii will keep in mind because just yesterday I saw an episode of Jojos where a gambler comes out and the episode was psychologically very good, I would like to explore that concept more broadly in an anime dedicated to the topic of betting 😎
uuuuff yes it is, Tornado of Souls and Bleach together are great memories that AMV left me
That same Arc is, Stardust Overdrive 😃, just yesterday I finished it and started watching the next adventure of the JoJos and their poses haha with good Josuke and his hair hahahahahahh 😂
There are many anime that don't get the recognition they deserve and that's why I think it's great that people like you make reviews about them so more people can know them, I didn't know any of these haha 😂
Honestly, I really like it when they take my recommendations. I hope they help you to watch more anime.
Without a doubt the AMV are amazing, even today I still watch them and listen to them from time to time haha, it's great that other times they have returned even in Reals format, the truth I have also found several interesting anime that way, Kaiji I have not seen it but only with your brief explanation already caught my attention a plot like the squid game sounds interesting and more today haha. Odd cab I've seen it a lot in videos on the net, it seems to be very interesting although I haven't seen it yet, the theme of the cab and conversations with all the different characters makes me curious.
Thanks for the tips, I'm looking to get a bit more into anime this year. I'm quite sure that Kaiji is something that I would also get addicted to quickly.
You are welcome. If you see kaiji come back here, I'm sure that if you start you won't stop until you finish it.
