Sankaku Mado no Sotogawa wa Yoru --- was a good watch!

Although it's tagged as BL, I don't really consider it as one. It's "almost" BL, though. Anyway, what I'm going to share this time is an anime called Sankaku Mado no Sotogawa wa Yoru or The Night Beyond the Tricornered Window in English.

The story revolves around the life of Kousuke Mikado. He's got the ability to see spirits since he was a child. And since he's terrified of what he sees beyond his normal sight, he tried suppressing his ability by wearing glasses.

The rest of the photos are screenshots from the anime.

During one of his shifts at the bookstore where he works, he had a fateful encounter with Rihito Hiyakawa. Hiyakawa is a medium who firmly believes that Mikado is his destiny... in a sense related to their abilities.

Although reluctant, Mikado was forced to join Hiyakawa to explore the supernatural world with his promise that the former won't feel fear as long as he stays with him. While working together, they stumbled upon vicious curses that led them to "Erika Hiura".

Along the way, they met people who had similar abilities and ended up working together... but for what? Feel free to watch it to find out. Here's a short trailer of the anime below.

It's borderline BL, but there's no romantic love involved... so far, unless we try to find some doujinshi about them. haha I guess one of the reasons why is because of their erotic-looking way of exorcism. Let me show you some screenshots!

hahahahaha

The character says so himself... XD

I'm a BL fan and this being just borderline BL is kind of a waste, but I'm not complaining. I love supernatural, horror, and thriller genres after all!

Storywise, I like it. It may be a little confusing since some characters and situations overlap each other, but when you get the message, it becomes interesting. Anyway, it's a matter of preference and this is up my alley.

The characters are pretty unique from each other. It's hard to imagine these characters working together, more so getting along with each other mainly because of their differences, but they did!

And yeah... this one's a plus for me. I love the concept of astral projection (no wonder I'm in love with Insidious movies)... they just do it so casually. They even combined this with modern technology. It's a fresh concept. haha

Dude, tell that to the marines!
Despite having a serious main plot, this series pitched in some funny moments here and there... and a bunch of creepy ones, too!

I like the art style (including the spirits and monster-like creatures) as well as the animation style. It's like going through the abyss! (Not that I've been there... xD)

All in all, it was a good watch. :) If you're into the supernatural or horror genre, then you might enjoy this. If you're a fujoshi or a fudanshi, watch with caution as you may feel a bit frustrated. hahaha

Anyway, I enjoyed it. Thanks for reading and see you on the next one! (^^,)/

Maybe they categorized it that way because of some sensitive scenes or something. Well, it all depends on the category, but I honestly think there is more action and a mix of fantasy in the anime.

Nahh.. It's wholesome... I mean their "erotic" scenes are still pretty wholesome for me. lol The only sensitive scenes are bloody and creepy ones. I just mentioned BL for the monthly quest. :P

I'm thinking MAL added BL in the genre for fujoshi/fudanshi clickbait. JK~
