For the past couple of years, I've been pulling my mama to the anime world by watching anime together. There's a limit to what I could recommend her because she doesn't like dark and bloody ones. I'm also not a huge fan of romance anime, so there's not many I could recommend from that genre. Luckily, we found a common ground and that is sports anime.
Because of that, we have almost finished watching (in my case, rewatching) a bunch of sports anime. So, I was racking my brain for something to recommend her that I'm also excited to watch again.
Ding! Ding! Ding! I found one. I remember being gaga over this anime with my bestie almost 10 years ago and guess what? My mama enjoyed it.
So for this contest, I'm also recommending the same anime I recently rewatched and recommended to her. It is entitled, Nagi no Asu kara.

Nagi no Asu kara (Nagiasu) or A Lull in the Sea is a drama, fantasy, romance anime released in the fall of 2013. The series has 26 episodes in total.

There are two types of people in the NagiAsu world; Thase that live in Oshiooshi (Land people) and those from Shioshishio (Sea people).
The story focuses on Hikari and Manaka together with their childhood friends Chisaki and Kaname. They're all from Shioshishio, but for some reasons, they were forced to attend the school in Oshiooshi.
The relationship between these two groups of people. isn't the best. Discrimination to the point of hatred exists. However, this relationship may change either for the better or for the worse as an impending doom presents itself.

I watched it for the second time earlier this month and my opinion on it didn't change. I still enjoyed the storyline, the beautiful art style and the gorgeous effects in the animation. The music they used in the anime is also really good.

Did you see that art style? Waaa! It's really beautiful and the place is so mystical...
Although it's not Christmas or holiday-themed, this anime would show us the value of humanity and people's relationships; be it with their family, friends, partners or society in general.
It's pretty heartwarming, exciting and sometimes frustrating to watch. It's worth it, though. I hope you enjoy this anime as much as I did.

I watched this anime and again I must say that I had forgotten about it haha how could I?
It's beautiful in terms of design and story, in the second half of the anime I was shocked by what happened and expected the worst haha but then... well, I won't make spoiler, you and I know what I mean haha
I don't know if this anime is very well known, but it's worth watching, it's tender, original and it keeps you waiting for what's going to happen, how it will end 😲

Yesssss, I remember this too. I watches this the time na addict ako sa anime, lahat ng makita kong anime sa group kung saan member ako is dina download ko, lol. Mejo limit ko na story but I still remember their face even the art style. I also remember loving the art style coz it's really good.
Time for you to rewatch it then... hahaha xDD
Sounds like an ideal anime to watch this holiday season as it seems to have a soft and friendly story, after such a heavy year it's nice to relax with something like this.

I haven't watched this anime yet but it looks very beautiful! I really like fantasy and romance and if it's so nicely animated then I think it would be the perfect story to watch.

Anime like this could be great to put on while waiting for Christmas day/New Years Day. The different culture aspects of the characters are likely to grasped the attention even to those non-anime enthusiasts like your mom. Also deep topics explored ingrained even in our society like discrimination (and in kind of racism) is greatly appealing to them. Glad you got her interested.
Would like to watch this sometime but with a high chance of just reading it via manga.
I have not watched it yet , but the story looks very strong maybe it’s about their friendship? I don’t know yet I guess I have to watch it to find out the story.
