If Money Is The Root of All Evil Then Greed is The Most Evil | Overgeared Manhwa Recommendation

in The Anime Realm3 years ago

Overgeared is one of the Manhwa's that I am hooked to. I can forget and drop some but this is what I am too invested and since every week they release at least 1 chapter it is a no-brainer that once it gets updated I immediately read this blog.

I first started reading this series on Mangabat.com but due to indecent ads popping up on my screen each time I open a new chapter I decided to read it directly to the main scanner's web page which is Reaperscans.com.

Here's the description of the Manhwa from Reaperscans:

[Shin Youngwoo (Username: Greed)]
The world’s greatest virtual reality game, .
Whether in reality or in the game, misfortune has always followed him… Until when, during the middle of a quest, he finds a lottery ticket in the game by chance—‘Pagma’s Rare Book’.
He changed classes into the only legendary class that stands the strongest amongst over 2 billion users.
“How are you still alive…?!”
“Well, it’s nothing special…”
“I’m Overgeared.”
“Greed”, the strongest player who escaped from his tiring, misfortunate, and nightmarish life as a debtor.

As of now, a multitude of VRRMO-inspired series is being translated by scanner groups and this one has been ongoing for quite some time as of writing 148 chapters are already in English thus if you are a fan of binge-reading this is a must.

Plot:

The story is pretty simple at first, there's a young man who's in a huge amount of debt thanks to his parents. He stopped going to school and focused on being a gamer to help with the finances in their household. Got a Legendary job which is only available for only 1 and become a successful person along the way, the end.

Main Character:

Greed / Grid is known to be a person who focuses on returns. In every action that he will do, he should be properly compensated which is understandable since he is in huge debt. But after paying off the debt his character somehow changed as he was portrayed as a hero and a respectable person for some. Though his greed is still part of him and he is well known to be a money grabber bastard by his enemies and people that don't know him personally.

Outside the game, he is also known as a loser by his classmates, and when they had a reunion people tried to ridicule him as he doesn't have any achievements at all.

Character Relatability :

One way or another, readers can understand Greed's persona. It is the concept of surviving as he is willing to do anything to gain. He grinds hard too! As he doesn't rely that much on other people for his growth. Though there are some characters involved in his growth as he continues to become a blacksmith and a lord in the area, he is presented with multiple opportunities for growth.

Should you be reading the series?

If you have some time to spare, definitely this is a good addition to your reading list. It isn't a completed series yet and there's more to discover on this manhwa the journey of Greed to becoming a monarch and creating multiple connections is something that we can use in life too. I remember in this series the concept of having multiple friends to be able to help him with trouble relating to stuff that he isn't familiar with.

It has been a week since I last posted on this blog, and a lot of stuff is happening in the background thus I don't have such leisure to create one. While I was just passing around sometime last night and even today I bumped into a streamer on Twitch @mhowii who's playing Splinterlands. During the few minutes he isn't playing, he mentioned that he is also reading manga and manhwas thus the inner weeb in me awakened. We talked about some manhwa that we read and surprisingly the majority of which I had read is also on his reading list. I urged him to write something too in the future in that way he can also be familiar with how things work.

I think i will give this one a try as well i am intrigued by this concept.
