💜 Hello everyone, I have been making the drawing that I will show you today for a year and I have finally finished it. This is rather a fanart made by me of the character Emi from the anime Magical Emi, she is a magic girl from the 80s which is one of my favorites.
💜Hola a todos, llevo un año haciendo el dibujo que hoy les mostrare y por fin lo eh terminado. Este mas bien es un fanart hecho por mí del personaje Emi del anime Magical Emi, ella es una magic girl de los 80s la cual es de mis favoritas.
A while ago I found this image of Creamy mami, another anime magical girl that I adore, and it occurred to me to try this style by drawing other magical girls since when I see this drawing it transmits the aura to me as if it were a live action of the character.
Hace tiempo encontré esta imagen de Creamy mami otra chica mágica de anime que adoro y se me ocurrió intentar este estilo dibujando a otras chicas mágicas ya que al ver este dibujo me trasmite el aura como si fuera un live action del personaje.
Obviously the artist who made that drawing is a professional, the drawing is beautiful but the only thing is that, well, Creamy looks like a girl, let's say American, when she is Japanese, so for my drawing, I looked for a reference for a Japanese model from the 80s with a haircut. hair similar to Emi's hair to guide me from her features since it is supposed to be a little realistic.
Obvio el artista que hizo ese dibujo es un profesional, el dibujo es hermoso pero lo único es que pues creamy parece una chica digamos americana cuando ella es japonesa, así que para mí dibujo busque de referencia una modelo japonesa de los 80s con un corte de cabello parecido al cabello de Emi para guiarme de sus rasgos ya que se supone que sea un poco realista.
I started with several sketches, seeing references of the character and the image of the model until I arrived at a clean sketch like a lineart but on this occasion there would be no lineart since this would be a drawing where the lines would be marked based on shadows and lighting.
Comencé con varios bocetos, viendo referencias del personaje y de la imagen de la modelo hasta llegar a un boceto limpio como un lineart pero en esta ocasión no habría lineart ya que este seria un dibujo en donde las líneas serian marcadas a base de sombras el iluminación.
For the skin and face, which was the first thing I started to paint, I had a background of blue and fuchsia lights that would be the stage lights that reflect the character and having them in the background helps to imagine how they will look on her.
Para la piel y el rostro que fue lo primero que comencé a pintar tenia un fondo de luces azul y fucsia que serian las luces del escenario que reflecta al personaje y tenerlas en el fondo ayuda a imaginar cómo se verán en ella.
Then I moved on to the clothes, taking into account which parts would be illuminated by the lights and playing with the colors.
Luego pase a la ropa igual tomando en cuanta que partes serian iluminadas por las luces y jugando con los colores.
In this drawing I alternate a lot between the program I use for drawing, which is Paint Tool Sai 2 and Photoshop, Sai allows me to save and work on my drawing in PSD format to work on it in both programs. The skirt and bow are supposed to be made of a semi-transparent fabric. frosted so first paint both garments, then look for an image with frosted texture and insert it into the pieces, with the help of layer options in Photoshop integrate them into your clothes, then with the brush add light, depth and shine to the skirt.
En este dibujo alterno mucho entre el programa que uso para dibujo que es Paint tool sai 2 y Photoshop, Sai permite guardar y trabajar mi dibujo en formato psd para trabajarlo en ambos programas, la falda y lazo se supone que es de una tela semi transparente escarchada así primero pinte ambas prendas, luego que busque una imagen con textura escarchada y la inserte en las piezas, con ayuda de opciones en capa en Photoshop las integre en su ropa, luego con el pincel agregue luz, profundidad y brillos a la falda.

Lo siguiente son las cartas, de su mano flotaran algunas cartas que seria su truco de mágica, así que fije la dirección de como irían las cartas, las dibuje en boceto y Lugo con líneas de pincel limpias.
I worked on the letters in Photoshop. I had some poker cards and these were shiny, but they also looked like they had a slightly wavy texture in the light, I don't know how to explain it, like they weren't completely smooth so I wanted to replicate that in the drawing, and trying with some brushes eh improvising that's how they turned out.
Las cartas las trabaje en Photoshop. Yo tenia algunas cartas de poker y estas eran brillantes, pero también se veía como si tuvieran una textura algo ondulada ante la luz, no se como explicarlo, como si no fueran del todo lisas así que quise replicar eso en el dibujo, y probando con algunos pinceles eh improvisando así quedaron.
For the effects, I will work the drawing completely in Photoshop adding lights, filters, saturation and layer options.
Para los efectos ya el dibujo lo trabajare completamente en Photoshop agregando luces, filtros, saturación y opciones de capa.
Now it was time to render, it took me a long time on this drawing (1 year XD)Because when a drawing doesn't convince me, I stop looking at it for a while and then go in and see, I feel like watching it, I don't know, but this helps me detect details and errors.
Ahora tocaba el renderizado, me tarde mucho en este dibujo (1 año XD) ya que cuando un dibujo no me convence lo dejo de ver por un tiempo para luego entrar y ver me siento viéndolo, no sé, pero esto me ayuda a detectar detalles y errores.
This drawing seems to me that it was missing some shadows, lights, removing one thing or another and some lines that add depth in certain parts, and I did that with a brush-style brush where the strokes are not marked but rather go from light to darker if you pass it several times.
Este dibujo me parece que faltaba de algunas sombras, luces, quitar una que otra cosa y algunas líneas que agreguen profundidad en ciertas partes, y eso lo hice con un pincel estilo brocha en donde los trazos no son marcados si no que van de claro a mas oscuro si lo pasas varias veces.
In this part you are going to see a huge change in the face and it was a little crooked, basically it did not have much facial harmony, I fixed this with the liquefy tool in PS, the rest was adjusting lights and shadows, her lips were very big and a little poorly painted so I edited that part too and god, she is much better.
En esta parte van a ver un cambio enorme en el rostro y es que este estaba un poco mucho chueco, básicamente no tenía mucha armonía facial, arregle esto con la herramienta licuar en PS, lo demás fue ajustar luces y sombras, sus labios eran muy grandes y un poco mal pintados así que también edite esa parte y dios, ella está mucho mejor.
Doing it was a lot of error, editing, error, editing, because it is my first time doing something like this, the drawing is on a small canvas, it should have been larger due to the type of drawing, it should have looked very detailed and clear, but it didn't. , remedy some of this in god Photoshop.
Hacerlo fue mucho error, edición, error, edición, porque es mi primera vez haciendo algo así, el dibujo esta en un lienzo pequeño, debía ser mas grande por el tipo de dibujo, este debía verse muy detallado y nítido, pero no fue así, remedie un poco de esto en dios Photoshop.
For the grand finale, add with the brush some glows around it, lights around it and some light trails as if its magic came out with some pngs that I have from downloaded tools.
Para el gran final agregue con el pincel algunos brillos a su alrededor, luces alrededor y algunas estelas de luz como si saliera su magia con algunos png que tengo de herramientas descargadas.
I hope you liked the drawing, I really liked doing it, I was only working on it when I felt motivated to do great details since drawing this style is not the easiest, especially if you are not used to it, but I loved the ending, I'll be done choosing who will be the next magic girl I will paint, wait another year 😆.
