Evening folks, today I bring to you the Anime series Why Does Nobody Remember Me in This World? or Naze Boku no Sekai wo Daremo Oboeteinai no ka?
The series starts with the four races in a nasty war: the Angels, Demons, Undead, and Humanoid Beasts. Humanity was getting its ass kicked until up stepped the champion known as Sid. Sid managed to defeat the champions of the other races, thus making humanity the winner of the war. After sealing away the 4 races in pyramids, the world remained at a reasonable peace.
Many years on, Sid and the pyramids become legends, reminding humanity about the forces that are still out there.
In comes Kai Sakura Vento, one of the large number of people who have the exciting task of monitoring the pyramids for any signs of the sealed races escaping. For if they do, humanity will struggle just as they did back in the times of Sid.

Kai has a day off and he plans to spend some time with his friend Jeanne, when all of a sudden, the world starts to change. This causes the world to be overwritten which brings Kai to a different reality where humanity lost the war. This led to humanity nearly being eliminated, forcing them into hiding from the races in the hopes of surviving.
Kai dives head first into trying to figure out what has happened to the world and why no one remembers him.
This leads him to meet Rinne, a young woman who was trapped in a pyramid. She turns out to be of mixed species and has been shunned by everyone. Kai finds the 'Codeholder', Sid's legendary sword, and using it allows him to free Rinne from her imprisonment.
Joining up with this new world's version of Jeanne, and Rinne, Kai pushes on to uncover what is happening, and how to find his way back.
Now if I'm honest, I thought that it was such a crap series that I genuinely struggled to even finish it, I only continued so that I could write about it and put into words just how shit it really was. Even just writing this post has bored me to death if I'm honest.
The whole storyline is very wishy-washy, not really overly clear but at the same time clear, just very poorly done. Very simple and boring, with some romance thrown in at random. I'm assuming solely because that's a normal thing to do maybe?
The artwork is good, it's a bit colourful considering the grim topic of the story but still looks good. It doesn't do enough to redeem the series, unfortunately.
Usually one of the more interesting parts for me is writing about the musical score, but this time they are pretty meh and nowhere near a score that can save the series for me.
The opening song, Sekai Rinne by Unlucky Morpheus
It's not a bad song, just doesn't fit the series at all.
With regards to the ending songs, it changed throughout, like they couldn't decide on what to go with.

UMBRA by ELFENSJóN. This one is actually not bad at all, but still cannot redeem the series overall.

It's a shame when a series has an interesting concept but falls short in execution. The mix of genres and lack of clarity in the plot can be frustrating, especially if the inclusion of elements like romance feels forced.
It had great potential, just so damn slow and boring. Shame really
