Let's Take A Look At I'm In Love With The Villainess

Hey folks, tonight I bring to you the series, I'm In Love With The Villainess or Watashi no Oshi wa Akuyaku Reijou.

The story starts with Rei Oohashi, an office worker by day, but by night she is Rae Taylor, the heroine from her Otome game.
Rei is overworked and burnt out from her day job, so she tries to enjoy a better life at night by immersing herself in her favorite dating sim game, Revolution. The game is based on a Royal Academy with much honour and prestige in the fictional realm called the Bauer Kingdom. Rae is a student of this prestigious academy and is one of the main characters in the game.

Instead of playing the game how it was designed, focusing on the male love interests within the game, of which there are many. Rei instead focuses on the game's Villainess, Claire Francois. Rei's obsession with Claire is clear from the get-go.
One evening after a long day, Rei's complete and utter exhaustion catches up with her, and she ends up passing out.

Upon waking, Rei opens her eyes to find that she is being shouted at and put down by the one and only Claire Francois!
After a brief bit of lecturing, Rei finds out that she has been reincarnated as Rae Taylor, from her favorite game Revolution. This propels Rei, who is now Rae, to confess her undying love for Claire and so she sets out to win Claire's heart.
Along the way, the many male leads try to get in the way and profess their love for her, but she bats them all away. Her sole focus is Claire, and Rae is determined to claim her love.

Surprisingly I actually quite enjoyed this series. At first, it was a bit meh, I couldn't really get behind the plot and it just seemed like the usual run of the mill reincarnation Anime. But after a few episodes, I started to enjoy it and ended up finishing the series by accident. 7 episodes on the bounce and I was done and wishing for another series so I could see how the story unfolds.

The series involves love, magic, school life, Royalty, and Demons. So all in all it has a lot of content and some amusing scenes throughout.
No fan service for once actually surprised me, as I always seem to have Crunchyroll recommending me smutty things to watch 😅

This is Ralaire, Rae's sidekick slime and adopted little friend, can't say why as that's a spoiler.
Hands down one of the best parts about the series is how cute this little guy is!

I found the art style really good overall, with some good use of colours, etc. I found it not too bright as some I have seen lately which is great. The theme of using these bright colours in Anime really puts me off a lot of them, so this one being the opposite was a welcome return to eye comfort for me.

The opening song has a great opening, it is really upbeat and got me in the mood for some fun and entertaining watching.
Raise Y/Our Hands!! by Yu Serizawa and Karin Nanami

Now in my stupidity, I actually missed that the ending theme songs change throughout the series!
We have O.C. Optimum Combination by Yu Serizawa and Karin Nanami

This is another great upbeat song, that picks up nicely where the intro finishes.
It switches around a bit every episode and it is Rae or Claire doing the singing which is quite cool.
