Goodbye Eri: Love, Loss

in The Anime Realm3 days ago

Goodbye Eri was a different experience than any other romance manga I have read before I expected a normal love story but what I got was something deeper and stranger and it made me think about it even after I finished it.

The story begins with Yuta a boy who decided to document the last days of his seriously ill mothers life but after her death he decides to make a movie about her The problem People hate him because of the ending he chose for his movie and here he begins his journey in search of a better way to tell his story until he meets a mysterious girl named Eri who changes everything.

What I really liked is how the story goes in an unexpected way and The relationship between Yuta and Eri is not just a traditional love story it has many layers of emotions mystery and even touches of fantasy that make you wonder Is everything real Or is it just part of the movie that Yuta is trying to make At moments I felt that the story was romantic and cute and at other moments I felt like I was in a whirlpool of sad and confusing feelings.

The drawing was simple but very powerful and The way the shots were presented as if they were scenes from a documentary gave the story a very real feel The characters expressions were subtle but carried many meanings and sometimes a single silent scene was enough to convey a stronger feeling than any dialogue.

As for the ending it was honestly mindblowing I wont spoil it but it made me rethink everything I read from the beginning Was the story about love About loss About escaping reality Everyone can see it differently and thats what made me love it even more.

Overall Goodbye Eri is not just a romance manga its a story about complex emotions about how we deal with sadness and how even love can sometimes be a way to escape reality If you like stories that leave a mark on you and make you think this manga is worth your time.
