🔴 Attention: This article is completely spoiler-free. Enjoy it.

Hello friends of Hive and this time the friends of the anime kingdom, they call me Old Fox. Today I want to share my most sincere opinions about a series that I was watching a few days ago.

I am not going to lie to you, I am not a fan of anime, in fact, I am just discovering it with my wife (she is a fan), however the last series we saw made me feel something that I had never felt with any type of series .

The series is called Shigatsu wa Kimi no Uso.

Surely you know it, it is a production that already has its own cult and has amazed millions of people. I will try to be as brief as possible when talking about the plot, because I do not want to spoil the experience, it is a story that, if you have not seen it, can impact you a lot.

Everything revolves around Arima Kōusei, a child prodigy of the piano who from a very young age became famous thanks to his talent. He was recognized as the human metronome, since all the notes of the songs that he played on his piano maintained absolute accuracy with what was written on the score.

This young man, due to a trauma he suffered in his childhood, begins to suffer from selective deafness... he can hear everything except the sound of his piano. Since then, he has walked away from talent shows and competitions, vowing never to play the piano again.

It is when he meets Kaori Miyazono, the girlfriend of his best friend, a girl who is the opposite of him when it comes to music. She loves to improvise, her talent is based on transforming the scores and letting herself be carried away by her passion, Arima had never seen anything like this.

Kaori, the twinkling star.

Kaori will quickly become the star of our show, we will try to understand her, she will give us clues about what she feels, and little by little she will win our hearts... however, she is the girlfriend of boy A and Arima is boy B.

The relationship between all the characters in this series is surprising, there are absolute rivalries, misunderstandings, unrequited loves, and at all times, the children who star in this anime behave like adults, with an enviable level of depth, fighting against their own demons and overcoming complexes and well-established traumas in its 22 chapters of duration (23 if we include the OVA that works as a prequel, unmissable).

Tsubaki, best friend.

The great childhood friend.

In all good life stories anime there is a childhood friend or something similar, in this case it is no different, however, I dare say that the treatment they give to the character of Tsubaki Sawabe is very different what we usually get used to.

She is a childhood friend who deals with her own problems, who wants the best for her friend, and who does not display the typical older sister complex that we usually see in many animes, at least not in the cartoonish way in the anime. that is usually presented.

She is a girl who has always protected her friend, that she has a very beautiful story, complexes and insecurities that prevent her from realizing her feelings and that in the end, she will undoubtedly surprise us.

Characters

A fantastic cast.

Along with them is a fantastic cast of secondary characters who have a very large impact on the story, and at the same time, are greatly impacted by the protagonist, something that is nice to see, because our rivalry story becomes a competition. always clean, driven by the desire to overcome the opponent and the passion that generates that same desire to improve.

Each of the characters in this story is related to another based on their future aspirations and their past, it is vitally important that after reaching the end of the series you take a look at the OVA that came out shortly after, to understand the story In its whole.

In summary.

The story revolves around a boy who must overcome his fear of music, his traumas and how desperate it can be to love a person who does not correspond to him, while his friends deal with their secondary stories, each one better than the last, and we are presented with a series of challenges that will put everyone to the test, while helping our protagonist to overcome his blockages.

Behind the story.

The plot, the animation, the voices of the characters, everything is a fundamental part of the development of any anime, however in this production the music is a predominant factor that connects absolutely everything, and although many other projects could have taken it easy, the level of professionalism and the high quality quotas that we will see here, are something that I have never seen in other similar productions.

The dubbing actors were first rate in each of their interpretations, the characters enjoyed a disturbing maturity, being children and having to say very deep phrases naturally, it is not easy to achieve.

The music was directed by the incredible Masaru Yokoyama in coordination with all the animators from the A-1 Pictures studio who made sure that the characters looked as realistic as possible when playing their instruments.

A-1 Pictures is one of the most respected animation studios in Japan, charged with bringing projects like Anohana, Sword Art Online, and Nanatsu no Taizai, among many other incredibly famous anime, to the screen. Something I did not know about this studio is that it is in fact a Sony studio, so the quality of their productions always have an enviable financial and professional support.

Since it is a musical story, it was logical that with Sony behind it, they were going to look for the best musicians and arrangers in Japan for the realization of each of the musical pieces of this anime. And it is that each character has their own style, their way of playing and holding their instruments, all of this being previously planned by world-class artists such as Tomoki Sakata who played the piano of our protagonist and Yūna Shinohara, an incredibly talented violinist who played the music played by Kaori.

As I told you at the beginning of this publication, I really don't have much experience in the world of anime, but my wife has been teaching me a lot of things, since she is an artist and a fan of all this, I will most likely be sharing more reviews about them. things that I watch, and I hope you give me your recommendations to see some interesting series.

Kimi no uso
Picture
