Hello everyone, I hope you have had a good day.
Today I wanted to explore again drawing with grayscale, the last time I did much better than the first and I thought this time it would be easier, I wanted to do it with a drawing I had in mind, very excited I made my sketch and painted everything with grayscale but this time it did not come out as well as I expected, for some reason I lost focus and the idea of colors I had thought, this drawing I started last night and today I was going to add color, I don't really remember what colors I had thought so I had to experiment a little bit and finally I ended up making a drawing with green, blue and purple tones that in the end I didn't like so much and I tried to fix it but all the colors I put looked horrible, in the end I left it like this and I also kept the black and white version that I think looks much better, I think I will only use this technique for drawings that are more fantasy-like and not semi-realistic portraits like the ones I usually do, anyway, I hope you like it.
I made my sketch and then I started to paint the background, I wanted a background with light in the center and a little darker around, then I started to paint the skin adding dark grays for the shadows and lighter grays for the lights, in a new layer I added more shades of grays giving a better shape to the skin.
Now I mix the tones to leave a smooth skin, paint the clothes and other details like the hair and more movement in the background, when I finished I started to play a little with the layer adjustments adding color also touch the gradient map and so I managed to give a different tone to the drawing, in this process I forgot to take pictures of everything I did because it really took a long time and I used too many layers trying to get a result that I liked, although it was not so bad I feel that it still lacks something.
