Rain on me — Hive

Hola amigos.

Hace mucho tiempo que no hacia un trabajo que considerase delicado y de un estilo mas “lindo” de lo normal, esta vez quise plasmar algo así y compartirlo con ustedes, inspirada en algo que me gusta muchísimo que son las nubes y además agregando un ligero toque de surrealismo que ya hace un rato que tampoco practicaba, elegí una paleta de colores de tonos bastante fríos y se me ocurrió esta idea de hacer el cabello en forma de nubes, después de terminarlo quise añadir una lluvia debajo de las nubes me gusto bastante como resulto todo, sin mas que decir les explico el paso a paso que seguí para este trabajo.

It's been a long time since I did a work that I considered delicate and with a "prettier" style than normal, this time I wanted to capture something like this and share it with you, inspired by something that I like very much which are the clouds and also adding a slight touch of surrealism that I haven't practiced for a while, I chose a color palette of quite cold tones and I came up with this idea of making the hair in the form of clouds, after finishing it I wanted to add a rain under the clouds, I really liked how everything turned out, without more to say I explain the step by step I followed for this work.

Proceso/Process

Tenia una idea no tan clara de lo que quería hacer pero poco a poco se fue construyendo una idea, mi pensamiento siempre fue las nubes, es algo que me encanta agregar en cada obra que tiene surrealismo, después de tener el boceto listo comencé a pintar la piel, utilizando tonos opacos y fríos para rellenar cada parte, mezcle estos colores un pincel de textura sin mucho cuidado pues no quería ser tan detallista en esta oportunidad, así le daría un poco de textura a la piel, para el cabello use un celeste claro y luego comencé a rellenar creando sombras y luces que dieran movimiento al cabello, en la parte inferior el pintado cambio un poco pues, quería darle esa textura de nube al cabello. Pinté el vestido con un tono aqua y dibujé sombras para crear los pliegues de la tela.

I had a not so clear idea of what I wanted to do but little by little an idea was built, my thought was always the clouds, it is something that I love to add in every work that has surrealism, after having the sketch ready I began to paint the skin, using opaque and cold tones to fill each part, I mixed these colors with a texture brush without much care because I didn't want to be so detailed in this opportunity, this way I would give a little texture to the skin, for the hair I used a light blue and then I began to fill creating shadows and lights that would give movement to the hair, in the lower part the painting changed a little because I wanted to give that cloud texture to the hair. I painted the dress with an aqua tone and drew shadows to create the folds of the fabric.

Ahora era tiempo de pintar el fondo y las nubes que rodean de ambos lados, para esto me ayude con un pincel que tiene esa textura de nube e intercale colores para hacerlas ver mas realistas agregando sombras y diferentes puntos de tonalidades, se me ocurrió pintar una media luna en la frente pues me parecía un detalle bonito y que combinaba mucho con todo el dibujo, luego agregue algunos pájaros volando en el fondo y realice un pequeño ajuste de color a la imagen sin muchos cambios pues me gustaba mucho como se veía, algo que se me ocurrió en ultimo momento fue añadirle esta especie de lluvia debajo de las nubes, no estaba segura si quedaría bien pero a mi realmente me encantó.

Now it was time to paint the background and the clouds that surround on both sides, for this I helped me with a brush that has that cloud texture and intersperse colors to make them look more realistic by adding shadows and different points of tonalities, it occurred to me to paint a half moon on the forehead because I thought it was a nice detail and that combined well with the whole drawing, then I added some birds flying in the background and made a small color adjustment to the image without many changes because I really liked how it looked, something that occurred to me at the last moment was to add this kind of rain under the clouds, I was not sure if it would look good but I really loved it.
