Splinterlands art contest | Heloise the Hollow

Se me estaba haciendo difícil y aburrido dibujar siempre las mismas cartas y me di cuenta de una carta nueva que estéticamente combina mucho con mi estilo, me encanto cada detalle y quise hacerlo a lo grande, hace mucho tiempo que no hacia un dibujo tan detallado por falta de tiempo, aun asi digamos que hoy tuve el día “libre” de las ocupaciones que suelo hacer diariamente en casa y pude terminar este dibujo que comencé ayer por la noche, no les voy a mentir estaba muy preocupada por los detalles que puse esta vez ya que nunca había dibujado en esta pose “sentada” y menos una especie de trono, no tenia ni idea de como iba a hacerlo pero me relaje y decidí improvisar al momento de pintarlo sin preocuparme demasiado, lo único que no pude integrar fueron los cráneos colgando de la falda, sinceramente no me salieron bien ni siquiera en el boceto y al final lo descarte, a pesar de todas las dificultades me encanto el resultado final, espero que les guste.

It was getting difficult and boring to draw always the same cards and I realized a new card that aesthetically combines a lot with my style, I loved every detail and I wanted to make it big, it's been a long time since I did a drawing so detailed for lack of time, even so let's say that today I had the day “free” of the occupations that I usually do daily at home and I could finish this drawing that I started last night, I'm not going to lie I was very worried about the details that I put this time because I had never drawn in this pose “sitting” and less a kind of throne, I had no idea how I was going to do it but I relaxed and decided to improvise when painting it without worrying too much, the only thing I could not integrate were the skulls hanging from the skirt, sincerely I did not come out well even in the sketch and finally discard it, despite all the difficulties I love the final result, I hope you like it.

Proceso/Process

Realice mi boceto y elegí los colores para la piel, use tonalidades beige, rosas y lila en algunas partes que quería iluminar, en otra capa añadí mas colores para terminar de formar toda la piel y los mezcle dejando una textura suave, luego coloque los colores base a la ropa guiándome de la imagen original.

I made my sketch and chose the colors for the skin, I used beige, pink and lilac tones in some parts that I wanted to illuminate, in another layer I added more colors to finish forming the whole skin and mixed them leaving a soft texture, then I put the base colors to the clothes guiding me from the original image.

Empecé a darle volumen a cada prenda y la que mas me costo fue la falda pero valió la pena durar una hora pintándola porque quedo muy bonita, los pliegues a mi parecer se ven bastante bien, para el fondo pinte con verde oscuro y se me ocurrió añadir algunas luces verdes y fuego morado en la parte inferior, luego llego el momento mas temido que fue pintar el trono, como sabia que mi cerebro ya estaba demasiado cansado y no iba a poder encontrar una forma lógica de pintar esto directamente con color, decidí usar escala de grises para el trono.

I started to give volume to each garment and the one that cost me the most was the skirt but it was worth it to last an hour painting it because it was very nice, the folds in my opinion look pretty good, for the background I painted with dark green and I thought of adding some green lights and purple fire at the bottom, then came the most dreaded moment which was to paint the throne, as I knew that my brain was already too tired and I would not be able to find a logical way to paint this directly with color, I decided to use grayscale for the throne.

Y me funciono mejor de esta manera, añadí detalles con luces y sombras al trono y luego empecé a agregar color jugando con las capas y modo de fusión de cada una de ellas, tambien pinte la espada detrás de ella, luego añadí más detalles al dibujo iluminando algunas zonas que quería resaltar, y como siempre edite la imagen dándole un poco mas de contraste y arreglando algunos ajustes de color.

And it worked better this way, I added details with lights and shadows to the throne and then I started to add color playing with the layers and blending mode of each one of them, I also painted the sword behind her, then I added more details to the drawing lighting some areas that I wanted to highlight, and as always I edited the image giving it a little more contrast and fixing some color adjustments.
