Vi Fan art | Arcane

Recientemente me animé a ver por primera vez la serie de Arcane, sinceramente no le tenia mucha fe porque no me gusta demasiado ver series animadas, sentí que no iba a transmitirme nada pero estan tan bien ilustradas todas las escenas que incluso puedes imaginar que es real, los colores, el diseño de cada personaje y escenario son puro ARTE, habían escenas con efectos como de acuarela y yo solo pensaba “Mierda... que difícil debió haber sido animar esto” y realmente lo hicieron excelente, todo quedo visualmente precioso, la historia me encanto y claro, tengo mis personajes favoritos, uno de ellos es Violet (Vi) esta mujer es realmente mi amor platónico, la amo demasiado jajaja. Y bueno, hoy quise retratar a Vi intentando imitar un poco el estilo de dibujo de esta serie, algo que note es que los trazos no son tan difuminados, tienen textura y cambios de color que dan un estilo bastante peculiar, mi idea ene esta ocasión era hacer el lado izquierdo de VI como ella es normalmente, y el lado derecho con VI con el corazón roto, emo, gótica, rebelde jajaja, no se cual de esas dos versiones me gusto mas y por eso decidí hacer la mitad del rostro de un estilo y la otra del otro, estoy feliz con el resultado porque para mi es un logro intentar hacer otro estilo que siento que es un poco diferente al mío. Espero que les guste.

Recently I was encouraged to watch for the first time the Arcane series, honestly I didn't have much faith because I don't like to watch animated series, I felt that it wasn't going to transmit me anything but all the scenes are so well illustrated that you can even imagine that it's real, the colors, the design of each character and scenery are pure ART, there were scenes with watercolor effects and I just thought “Shit... how hard it must have been to animate this” and they really did it amazing, everything was visually beautiful, I loved the story and of course I have my favorite characters, one of them is Violet (Vi) this woman is really my platonic love, I love her too much hahaha.
And well, today I wanted to portray Vi trying to imitate a little the drawing style of this series, something I noticed is that the strokes are not so blurred, they have texture and color changes that give a rather peculiar style, my idea this time was to make the left side of VI as she normally is, and the right side with VI with a broken heart, emo, goth, rebel hahaha, I don't know which of those two versions I liked more and that's why I decided to do half of the face in one style and the other in the other, I'm happy with the result because for me it's an achievement to try to do another style that I feel is a little different from mine. I hope you like it.

Proceso/Process

Para hacer a Vi en la versión que imaginaba, debía hacer un retrato frontal, donde se pudiera apreciar ambas versiones de Vi, entonces hice un boceto mirando al frente, en el lado derecho dibuje las cosas que caracterizan a Vi en esta etapa, el maquillaje negro, las curitas en la frente, luego elegí los colores basándome un poco en las tonalidades que apreciamos en la serie, de un lado usando tonos marrones un poco cálidos pero al mismo tiempo pálidos y del otro lados marrones mas grisáceos, en una nueva capa comencé a dar mas colores y detalles formando mejor el rostro, luego me ocupe de mezclar los colores con un pincel duro y plano, usando una opacidad media para dejar textura en el rostro, en este punto estaba un poco triste porque no me estaba gustando demasiado el dibujo, pero aun asi decidí continuar.

To make Vi in the version I imagined, I had to make a frontal portrait, where both versions of Vi could be appreciated, so I made a sketch looking to the front, on the right side I drew the things that characterize Vi at this stage, the black makeup, the band-aids on the forehead, then I chose the colors based a little on the shades that we appreciate in the series, on one side using brown tones a little warm but at the same time pale and on the other side more grayish brown, in a new layer I began to give more colors and details forming better the face, then I took care of mixing the colors with a hard and flat brush, using a medium opacity to leave texture on the face, at this point I was a little sad because I was not liking too much the drawing, but still I decided to continue.

Luego de pintar las cejas y pestañas, además de arreglar un poco los colores del rostro, me sentía mejor con el camino que estaba tomando el dibujo, pero aún faltaba algo… decidí pintar el pelo para ver si solo la veía extraña por eso, use tonalidades rosas y fucsia del lado izquierdo y un tono mas oscuro casi llegando a negro del lado derecho, pinte la ropa, haciendo su chaqueta roja del lado izquierdo y una chaqueta oscura del derecho, me di cuenta que el problema era que el cuello era demasiado largo, asi que recorte un poco del cuello dejándolo mucho mejor, agregue iluminaciones en el rostro y me ocupe de los detalles como el maquillaje, las cicatrices y el tatuaje en el rostro, para el fondo elegí hacer un lado naranja brillante y el otro lado un color marrón muy oscuro con líneas naranjas desordenadas que para mi representan ese quiebre que ella estuvo pasando en ese momento, y asi termine mi dibujo, realmente me gusto, no se si ya alguien haya hecho este dibujo con la misma idea pero no dude en plasmarla cuando se me ocurrió, fue bastante complicado pero al final logre hacerlo justo como lo imaginaba.

After painting the eyebrows and eyelashes, besides fixing a little the colors of the face, I felt better with the way the drawing was taking, but there was still something missing... I decided to paint the hair to see if she only looked strange because of that, I used pink and fuchsia tones on the left side and a darker tone almost reaching black on the right side, I painted the clothes, making her red jacket on the left side and a dark jacket on the right, I realized that the problem was that the neck was too long, so I cut a little of the neck leaving it much better, I added illuminations on the face and I took care of the details like the make up, the scars and the tattoo on the face, for the background I chose to make a bright orange side and the other side a very dark brown color with messy orange lines that for me represent that break that she was going through at that moment, and so I finished my drawing, I really liked it, I don't know if someone has already done this drawing with the same idea but I didn't hesitate to capture it when it occurred to me, it was quite complicated but in the end I managed to do it just as I imagined it.
