Hi guys. Several days ago together with @gulia.peito we asked @bugubuneng for an interview. He is a pixel artist from Indonesia. We couln't speak alive but we sounded the questions and answers. So here we go!
Below we will provide a full interview in textable version.
1
Please position yourself. Your real name, for example. Tell something about you and your art. What country do you live?
My real name is Aditya Saputra. My pseudonym is Adit Bujbunen Al Buse (you can easily find me with this keyword on google search, 😜). I am an illustrator, comic artist, pixel artist, and electronic music producer. I live in Indonesia.
2
What kind of education do you have and what art do you draw.
I graduated from an art college majoring in interior design. But after graduating, I worked as an illustrator and graphic designer for some local novel book covers.
3
Why did you choose digital art?
The reason is simple, I no longer need to buy paper and drawing equipment which are quite expensive.😝
Did you try to draw with paints?
Yes, but it's been a long time.
4
Can you say something about pixelart in general? How do you feel it?
Pixel art is a style in drawing. I chose this style for several reasons. One of them is childhood nostalgia. I want to emulate my childhood happiness into my work.
5
What programs do you use?
Medibang Paint Pro and Pixel Studio.
6
What inspires and motivates you, maybe several artists.(with links please)
The graphics of the 80-90s PC DOS games I played as a child really inspired me to draw in that style. The person who really inspires me is Jordan Mechner (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Jordan_Mechner). The creators of the legendary game Prince of Persia.
7
Do you live on selling your own artworks or you have a full time job?
I am a comic artist and sell my own comics. Some I share digitally on my Instagram account (https://www.instagram.com/pendekarcyborg/guides/)
I am also a freelance illustrator and electronic music producer.
8
What books, music, movies do you like?
The books I like are usually related to the things I do. Such as books on art, pop culture, comic-book, music, cyberpunk, biographies.
I like edm, ebm, metal music, harsh noise and experimental electronic music. Also some pop music, oldies, etc .
I enjoy b-movies, cyberpunk themes, superheroes, documentaries about music, animation, etc.
And why?
Because all of them are very helpful in providing inspiration to my work. And of course to enjoy it while relaxing.
9
Do you play computer games? What are they?
Yes. Old school games. Especially PC DOS games. Like Last Ninja, Prince of Persia, Lucas Arts games, Silmarils games, and modern pixel art games like Owl Boy
10
Who did you want to be as a child?
The mandroid guy from Eliminators movie (1986), Doc Terror from The Centurions, Robocop, and Terminator 😛
11
What platforms do you use for selling art?
KnowOrigin, NFT Showroom, Mintable, TeePublic, and some local/ Indonesia art platforms

13
What YouTube channels do you watch for tutorials? Or other platforms you use for learning.
https://www.instagram.com/my.art.tutorials/
https://www.instagram.com/ /
14
Do you have paid courses for beginners? Or you can help them for free (of course limiting the time).
No, I do not have. But there is a possibility that in the future I will create a YouTube channel that contains tutorials. I am working on the material from now on.
15
Your vision of crypto currency and crypto art in the future (only your opinion)
I see quite a lot of hope in this crypto art thing. Such as appreciation in the form of financial gain. Also more important is the economic cycle that can support the lives of artists.
The habit of collecting works of art in physical form can be applied in the digital world. And the good thing is that there is a royalty system. The higher the collector sells the artwork purchased from the artist, the higher the royalties that the artist will get.
16
Favourite color (in hex)
#ff55ff
17
Tell please a short story of crypto punks (your vision). What are they and why they are so trendy?
I don't know much about Cryptopunks. But if what you mean is a large number of pixel-style avatar images released massively by a team called Larvalabs that was booming in the early days of the crypto art movement, I think this is related to a campaign, or early socialization of how digital things can be unique, valuable, and collectable. Which in the end becomes a trendy thing because it has inspired a lot and continues to be talked about.
And here is a bunch of links for Aditya.
