In the last couple of years, something has happened to creativity.
We are not the only ones now. The revolution in machine learning, artificial intelligence and generated adversarial networks has opened up an entire new frontier for artists such as myself.
The machine has truly arrived. Forget Terminator, forget Short Circuit. AI art and its ability to endlessly cycle through visions and it's own weird dreams makes it the new kid on the block.
In a sense AI art is an incredible resource for artists. It allows me to play with ideas, to spitball so to speak.
It also shares something with twitter of all things:
The text prompt is the driving force behind the output. Like Twitter, a message must be short and sweet, so it must be crafted and given some thought to not only fit, but to say what you want to say, complete with context and nuances (if there are any). AI art is the same. A badly worded or vague prompt can result in true digital garbage, and sometimes hours of time wasted.
Sometimes, the results are just plain weird, and this is the true magic at work. These invisible bodies are surreal and creepy, and also entirely generated by a vague text prompt. Here is another:
These images generated a "what the fuck?" response at first, but then I find myself looking deeper. I need to look deeper. More posts will feature some interested Ng experiments. It's good to get writing again!
I love the last one in particular!
Thank you very much! It's good to be back.
You are most welcome! =) Good to see you back!
These are surreal in a new sense of the world, really fascinating, yes as we move ever more digital the world might begin to blur at the edges of what we know as reality haha. @astrohive
Well said! It's a new frontier for sure!
