I have always liked to paint eyes, for a special reason in my life and the bird that most represents this in its plumage is the peacock, a beautiful and majestic aminal.

Siempre me ha gustado pintar ojos, por un motivo especial en mi vida y el ave que más representa esto en su plumaje es el pavo real, un hermoso y majestuoso aminal.

Recuerdo que uno de los primeros cuadros que pinté, fue en papel y con pastel a la tiza y consistía en unos ojos de mujer en medio de un gran cielo y de los ojos salían plumas de pavo real. Lo enmarqué, le puse un cristal y lo tuve mucho tiempo. Recuerdo también que la gente que lo veía me decía que esos ojos observaban y miraban como si fueran reales.

Los ojos representan para mí la visión del alma, la intuición y el ver más allá de lo que lo hacen los ojos humanos, justamente de eso hablaba con una amiga hoy. Las plumas del pavo real tienen ojos en cada una de ellas y tienen colores brillantes y hermosos. El pavo real también tiene su significado y entre muchos es la espiritualidad, creo que por eso me siento tan identificada. Cuidado, espiritualidad no significa religión, significa la conexión con el alma, que es la parte de la fuente de la creación misma.

I remember that one of the first pictures I painted was on paper and with chalk pastel and it consisted of a woman's eyes in the middle of a big sky and peacock feathers coming out of the eyes. I framed it, put a glass on it and I had it for a long time. I also remember that people who saw it told me that those eyes watched and looked as if they were real.

The eyes represent for me the vision of the soul, intuition and seeing beyond what human eyes do, and that is exactly what I was talking about with a friend today. The feathers of the peacock have eyes in each of them and they are brightly coloured and beautiful. The peacock also has its meaning and among many it is spirituality, I think that's why I feel so identified. Careful, spirituality does not mean religion, it means the connection to the soul, which is part of the source of creation itself.

Por eso el día de hoy y necesitando reconectar con el interior y como una forma de quitar el estrés decidí pintar una mujer interconectada con esa espiritualidad simbolizada con el pavo real.

Realicé muchas líneas guías ya que deseaba tener mucha simetría en el dibujo, sobre todo en ojos, nariz, boca tanto de la cabeza del pavo como de la mujer. Luego comencé dibujando la cabeza del pavo real, las plumas para luego dedicarme al rostro de la mujer.

Por supuesto los detalles del cabello se entremezclarían con las plumas, siempre me gusta formar esa mezcla entre animales o plantas con la figura humana. Pero esos detalles normalmente, si los dibujo, es como una solamente, porque luego le doy mejor forma en la pintura.

That's why today and needing to reconnect with the inner self and as a way to get rid of stress I decided to paint a woman interconnected with that spirituality symbolized by the peacock.

I made many guide lines as I wanted to have a lot of symmetry in the drawing, especially in the eyes, nose, mouth of both the peacock's head and the woman. Then I started drawing the peacock's head, the feathers and then I started drawing the woman's face.

Of course the details of the hair would intermingle with the feathers, I always like to form that mixture between animals or plants with the human figure. But normally, if I draw those details, it's only as a sketch, because then I give them a better form in the painting.

Para la pintura primero me dediqué a la cabeza del pavo, sus plumas azules, usando dos tonalidades azul cobalto y azul talo, también usé negro y blanco sobre todo para el pico y los ojos.

En el caso de las plumas que están sobre la cabeza, primero pinté los centros, con marrón oscuro, naranja, amarillo, azul, violeta, negro y blanco, para luego hacer los hilos de las plumas en color verde muy claro con verde inglés. El fondo sería blanco, pero entre los huecos de las plumas usé colores oscuros como el negro.

Luego proseguí con el rostro de la mujer, el cual siempre es el que me lleva tiempo, por los rasgos y tratando de que ambos lados queden simétricos. Pinte todo lo referente a la piel con blanco, color piel y marrón. Luego proseguí con los ojos, los cuales además de blanco y negro usé el mismo verde que las plumas y amarillo.

Seguí por la nariz y la boca, las cuales pinté igual que siempre y en la boca puse color carmín.

For the painting I first worked on the turkey's head, its blue feathers, using two shades of cobalt blue and thalo blue, I also used black and white mainly for the beak and the eyes.

In the case of the feathers on the head, I first painted the centres, with dark brown, orange, yellow, blue, violet, black and white, and then made the feather threads in very light green with English green. The background would be white, but between the feather holes I used dark colours like black.

Then I continued with the woman's face, which is always the one that takes me the most time, because of the features and trying to make both sides symmetrical. I painted everything about the skin with white, skin colour and brown. Then I went on with the eyes, which besides black and white I used the same green as the feathers and yellow.

I continued with the nose and the mouth, which I painted the same as always and in the mouth I used carmine.

Como mencioné lo que buscaba era mezclar las plumas del pavo con el cabello de la mujer, al cual le di tonalidades de violeta, azul y negro con algunos reflejos en blanco.

Finalmente hice en la parte de abajo plumas de pavo real y la de la derecha en otra tonalidad dentro del blanco y azul.

Era un cuadro que tenía en mente hace más de un mes y finalmente pude realizarlo, me relajó por momentos, porque pintar me hace olvidar de todo y hacer volar mi imaginación aún mucho más.

As I mentioned, what I was looking for was to mix the feathers of the turkey with the woman's hair, to which I gave shades of violet, blue and black with some white reflections.

Finally I made peacock feathers in the lower part and the one on the right in another tonality within the white and blue.

It was a painting that I had in mind for more than a month and finally I could do it, it relaxed me for moments, because painting makes me forget about everything and makes my imagination fly even more.
