Hello hello~ i went missing again for a while XD I blame this on my workload for this week and the fact that I wanted to spend my weekends with a special someone. And I did! It would have been better if we could have spent the weekeds catching up on sleep, but there are just some things we can't do yet XD
Anyways, it is now week 214 of the splinterlands weekly art contest and I think I'm cutting it close again with this one. What can I do though, I've been busy. But I am proud that I managed to finish this one nicely!
For week 214, I tried my hand at Medusa!
This is the finished piece and I had to make sure I captured that gaze that could turn man to stone.
I'm not quite sure of the splinterlands lore for her, but I kind of still stuck to the mythological presentation of hers. I wanted to add a little bling bling because in the card, she wore gold ornaments, but I still had quite a bit to detail up so I didn't bother with the gold anymore.
Materials used: Black ink, rainbow pen, watercolor, green and orange markers
Duration: a cumulative 3.5 hours XD i took so many breaks in between to dry some layers

Yes, I also know how to use watercolor, but I'm still a bit lazy to upload a watercolor collection XD so make do with this for now
Marker layer because the watercolor wasn't vibrant enough and I wasn't confident in my portrait skills when it came to watercolor
So this is when I was finally detailing in everything. I ended up doing a softer pen render than I normally do with this one becuase if I base on mythology, medusa was always the victim. i wanted her to have that softness to her, but I wanted to still give her that gaze that could turn you to stone.
So this has been me and my attempt at the splinterlands contest again. I hope that my following enties could be digital again ;;w;; I just bought a new stylus thanks to my entry from last week ;;w;; and I'd really love to practice digital art again now that my stylus problem is resolved!
