Design created by me in Photoshop

Hello everyone in the community! First of all, I wish you a Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year filled with health, prosperity, and joy.

Today I want to share with you an illustration I made of Endless Gibbon, a character from @Splinterlands. This piece was created as a sports mascot.

To bring this design to life, I used Illustrator 2019 and Photoshop, with the help of a Huion HS610 graphics tablet.

I hope you enjoy this illustration! Thanks for reading.

This week, I chose this character because the peculiar oval shape of the monkey's head caught my attention. I decided to highlight this feature in the design, using thinner and softer lines to express the frown and the eyes, while the head was outlined with thicker strokes.

Process

For the color palette, I went for a bold and intense combination. The mix of yellow and purple creates a very strong visual contrast. I applied gradients of yellow to the fur on the head and purple to the face, varying the shades to create depth and brightness. I also incorporated a white to light purple gradient to the fur around the face, which softens the transitions and enhances the design. I find the combination of yellow and purple to be very effective and makes the character stand out.

In the “lines” option, you can see that the design consists of 39 strokes.
