I used to have a recurring nightmare of getting my teeth knocked out. I could always taste the metallic flavor of the blood and feel the damaged gums... and would spit my teeth out into my cupped hand. It lasted for many years... but eventually stopped after making an artwork about it. Thanks for sharing your art here with us!

That's interesting... it's a common dream motif. It also used to plague me greatly. Always seemed so real, as you mentioned. What made it stop for me was one time I had a very vivid lucid dream where I realized my teeth were fine and I was just in a dream.
I then looked myself in the mirror (in the dream), smiled, and "willed" my teeth to regrow themselves with my mind. They obliged, and soon the teeth were expanding beyond the confines of my mouth, overwhelming the whole dream scene with enamel! 😂 Then I woke up. This was probably 5+ years ago now.
Wow, that's a crazy lucid dream. I always heard that if you could look at your hands in a dream that you would be able to take control of what was going on. But now that i think about it i have my doubts... since i often would look down into my hands and see the teeth in a pool of blood.
It was weird too because it was always something strange or accidental. Like the one that happened the most was when i would be walking past some guys horseplaying and one big guy would miss and end up catching me in the mouth instead. I even remember sometimes they would just be loose and dangle when i pushed my tongue on them and i would reach in and pull it out. I could hear and feel the pop of the last vestiges of root left. Super weird.
I have the art i did in storage. Maybe if/when i get my art out i can scan it and post it. I did a lot of research over the years and most of what i found in regard to the teeth or lack of teeth was that it was about financial uncertainty. Sounds mildly plausible. Thanks for your awesome comment! Glad you overcame yours as well!
thank you very much for your thoughts. writing this is not a common appreciation. and knowing that it has aroused memories, emotions or even reading reflections fills me with pride and gratitude. my works are left aside a long time sometimes but seeing what some of them can communicate makes me look at them differently. as if it had been someone else who made them. as if your stories were absorbed by it . my thanks come from my most timid and sincere side <3
I know what you mean when the art seems to create itself and it is always gratifying to know that the art has a value and meaning to others. Thanks! =) Keep up the great work.
