SHORT POEM:
INTRO:
Are you a fan of arts? Well for me, I will always be. Aside from writing, it is one of my passions to draw, sketch, and design, especially unique ones. But painting is the medium through which I prefer to see art. I have actually painted a lot in the past, especially after high school. My love for art grew throughout that time. But when my attention shifted more toward my academics and, eventually, to marriage, I started to decline on painting. But the passion is still there. That is why when I come to cross some paintings in the mall, on the wall street, in bazaar stores, and on the internet, I'm really wowing inside. As of the moment, I do paint sometimes; at least I don't totally unstring myself from it. Hence, my painting skill is just acquired through willingness and experience.
PAINTING is one style of art where a preferred image is made out of colorful paints. As in writing, it is a perfect avenue to express one's thoughts and emotions. It has the ability to put you in comfort and delight due to its amazing immersive power to grip our hearts. Thus, painting can alleviate stress and discomfort.
PAINTING EXPERIENCE:
1. Ayala Huge Mural Painting In The Year 2000
Twenty-three years ago, the POPCOM, or Population Commission, visited our school in Mabolo to campaign for a wall or mural painting contest. Three of us qualified to be chosen as potential contenders for the said event. Many schools joined as our competitors at that time. The PopCom organized and funded everything, from paint supplies to allowances. I forgot the theme and the criteria, but based on the wall artwork that we'd created , I can infer that it was basically about preserving a Filipino family. So to continue, after school in the afternoon, we rushed there in Ayala and located our place. We saw numerous students from various schools took their duties quite seriously.
Honestly, as a squad, we enjoyed what we were doing so much that even though night time was approaching, we were still so dynamic to pursue till the end. The task was not simple, though; we had to visit the huge wall many times after class to continue with our painting job. There were a few times in the making where modifications in style, color, and even the image itself took place after the squad's brainstorming moment. That made our task toilsome. However, we didn't take it as toxic; instead, it served as the most priceless part of our journey to mural painting. Because of that challenge, we learned the importance of sound judgment, careful evaluation, and finally an upright decision in this particular encounter. Finally, our wall painting was ready for the inspection. To make a long story short, we'd came in seventh place. Not bad ☺️. We divided our prize into 800 pesos each as per instructions from the above-mentioned agency. Such a wonderful and unforgettable experience.
( I could recall the happy feeling associated with that experience and even the smell of paint, haha, as I tried to reminisce about everything. Sadly, I lost the picture due to a few transfers of resident addresses. )
2. MY OBRA MAESTRO
There was a story behind this painting. I made this paint as my way of gifting my best friend on her birthday. Marian Fatima was her name. We met at Taiyo Yuden in Mepza Lapu2x City as coworkers. We'd known and bonded with each other during lunchbreak and after work, and occasionally during friends days out. Never did I know that she had endured some terrible hardships in life until she shared them with me, one break time from work. She sobbed a lot as she kept unveiling her story to me. I comforted her with a few uplifting words. From that time on, our friendship has grown stronger. In fact, we had a double marriage on May 2, 2007☺️.
The paint above signifies her life. The violent, raging sea was the toughest challenge, while the boat was her life. Her faith in God overcomes her trials and leads her out of the open as gold.
3. My Brother's Request
My brother Sherdel requested me to paint the Abante Tabuelan Road, a section of the curved area next to our parents house. This was December 30,2021 a few hours before New Year. He sent me the picture that his camera had taken and from there I was able to strike one at a time, bristle to bristle, brush to brush up adding finishing touches like flowers, etc until it was done. However, since I was not a professional painter, I never had undergone training or whatsoever; the result was the traditional or old Tabuelan road and not the modernized one😅. After finishing it, we traveled via Tabuelan, and my brother proudly hung it on the wall of his room.
REFLECTION:
LIFE IS LIKE A CANVAS. It is we who paint our own lives. Who motions with hand what kind of image or person we would like to shape and be an example to society, and most especially to our children. Every brush stroke of a decision, colors our future and shades it until the next generation births. Therefore PAINT A LIFE that is commendable and worthy of emulation. However, if dark and somber colors of mistakes and failures evince, as we journey in this imperfect world, be willing to humbly apologize and correct ones fault by trashing out the old ones, but with a lesson in mind, so as a guiding star to surmount another challenge ahead, get another piece of canvas and begin to doodle and reimage a new picture of life's hope and forgiveness with a dash of kaleidoscopic rainbows of color.
Enjoy reading and be ispired to paint your masterpiece. ☺️
Wow! What an amazing skill. You can express yourself either by painting or by writing. I also love art. But, time and hindrances won't allow me to develop and enhance it. But, I try my best to give art to the things that I usually do. Congrats @crownrich!

Sure, we paint our own lives, we dive into a very deep well of unconsciousness, which is there and wants to come to the surface. It is so liberating to put yourself in a trance and paint, everyone should do it, liberating therapy for the soul.
