Degrading of the radiant idea

The idea — the radiant idea,
tinged with swimming specks — too quickly ris'n
from torpor, that the vision, overwhelmed
with clarity must counter with a schism
of forms from other forms — disintegrate,
integrity of bounds — progressive melt,
and through the latent night solidify.
The idea belongs not to any one,
but all share in its merit equally.
And, too, all suffer equal in the claws
of its insidious, progressive flaws.
Through ignorance the idea turns ideal,
its radiance imprisoned — heavy chains
of dogma have o'er-densified its aims
and rendered callous what is meant to feel.
And still more weighty is an idol made
from ideal swirling in collective mind,
through beautified with gold and precious ores,
hypnotic with false-eye of maddened glee:
surpassing ugly is its devotee
who swaps the overwhelm of crystal ray
with sanity-effacing zealotry.
False clarity, false edict of false hand
of pseudo-power — false display of force
that decimates the Subtle and the True
as codified idea creates but rue
and horror in its glory weaponized.
