Hello, Again, Friends!!!
Thank you again for stopping by. Here's another piece of portrait art I draw over a week again. Again, there isn't really a central narrative or even a reason for why I draw this except that it was an exercise in reviewing my process and a study in value and lighting.
I'm thinking of bringing this into my roster of original characters. I like the look of it and might just rework it and flash out the design into something that is more substantial and full.
One thing I've been trying to refine is this new trick I strumbled across. This involves going to reasonable render without any destinct form and cast shadow, minimal direct light, specular light and ambient light.
Once you have all of that lined up, you duplicate the main figure/layer and, using the brightness adjustment you lower the brightness until you get to the level you need it at. Next, using the curves adjustment, you shift the hue to be a little or warmer (this depends on the ambient light environment).
I'll probable have to demonstrate the trick step by step in some future post (if I can make time to do that).
Thank you for taking that little time to let me share with you.
If you're interested in commissioning me for a piece, you can contact me via twitter DMs and my email
Bye-bye!!!
