En el día de hoy, deseo compartirles un nuevo trabajo artístico, acerca de una noticia que ha impactado en el mundo entero, y es la posible caída del asteroide 2024 YR4 para el 22 de diciembre de 2032, hacia la Tierra. El cual mide aproximadamente entre 40 y 90 metros de diámetro, comparado con el tamaño de la Estatua de la Libertad, que se encuentra ubicada en New York, NY. Este asteroide posee un gran potencial de causar graves daños, como el de arrasar una ciudad completa o generar un tsunami en el área donde impactaría, lo que llevaría a perdidas de vidas y de materiales... El porcentaje de probabilidad de impacto inicialmente era del 3%, lo cual indicaba una considerable atención por parte de astrónomos y agencias espaciales, ya que lo convertía en la mayor amenaza jamás detectada. Sin embargo, se puede constatar que en la actualidad solo se trata del 1%. Aunque aún se continúan con las investigaciones y este quizás hasta se pueda reclasificar como de riesgo 0%. La presente noticia me ha inspirado a elaborar una obra artística denominada "Posible impacto a la tierra del asteroide 2024 YR4". Today, I want to share with you a new artwork, about a news that has impacted the whole world, and it is the possible fall of the asteroid 2024 YR4 for December 22, 2032, towards the Earth. It measures approximately 40 to 90 meters in diameter, compared to the size of the Statue of Liberty, which is located in New York, NY. This asteroid has a great potential to cause serious damage, such as wiping out an entire city or generating a tsunami in the area where it would impact, leading to loss of life and property... The percentage probability of impact was initially 3%, which indicated considerable attention from astronomers and space agencies, making it the greatest threat ever detected. However, it is now only 1%. Although investigations are still continuing and it may even be reclassified as a 0% risk. This news has inspired me to create an artistic work called “Possible impact of asteroid 2024 YR4 on Earth”.
