BILA THE RADIANT.
Representing characters in a different light has always been a thing I love and I guess that is one of the reasons the #splinterlands art contests always catch my eyes. This time around I went in search of a character I have never seen before and after pouring through many pages and posts I found a couple but as you can tell Bila stood out.
She kind of reminds me of this Fantastic Four trailer that I saw few weeks ago. Only that John had more of a redish flame while hers is yellow. I love the glow about her and wanted to do something like that to surround her but I feared it might deepen and further distract the attention I want to accord to her.
The first thing I drew was the outline and with blue ink
This time I stuck with my traditional method and immediately shaded the outline with my black pen.
I wanted to branch out as I have been doing for the past two weeks but this particular drawing seemed simple enough and I believed that either way the essence will be captured. So after doing the needful, I shaded the hair.
Moving on I touched her eyes, eyebrows and arm. I think I touched the hair also even if it's a little bit.
I did the final shadings by touching her lips, neck and other spots I had earlier missed.
The materials I used while making this sketch are Blue, Black and Yellow pens.
