You know, I was planning to celebrate my First Anniversary on #hive but somehow February blew by so fast I didn't even notice we were in it or when it finished. Anyway even though I didn't celebrate it or make a post to that regard, you know now and that's all that matters. Throughout my stay on this platform the community that has helped me most is the Alien Art Community. They gave me the opportunity to express myself in art and also to meet other artist.

Thank you.Even. Though the community gave me a chance to share my works most of my journey here, the Hive power and motivation to keep going on came from #splinterlands. I am so in love with this game. You've built a one of a kind system without which thr majority of skilled and upcoming artists would be at a disadvantage and with no steady support or motivation. For this I say

To commemorate this I made a drawing of Doctor Blight, a card I have never drawn before. When I was still and undergrad there was this elective course my friend Joshua took about Egyptology and the art of early civilization. I attended one of the classes with him and one narration led to another and the name Asclepius was mentioned. They also talked about his staff before going back to the art that was the main course that day. These diversions I must confess are one of the things that made me fall in love with attending random classes as an undergrad.

When I saw Doctor Blight the first time I knew the exact I would want him to take thanks to the numerous historical stories I have heard over the years.

The card

As opposed to my Blue ink signature which over the months I've used I decided to break protocol and use the same method I've been using for the past two weeks, direct to the point. Another thing I thought of was tbat the Doctor wore primarily Black and adding Blue to the mix might not seat well.

At this point I finished up what was left of his physique

The shading began and I started from his hat touch up a little on his body to make sure there was a kind of background for the layers I am yet to apply. After this I touched his robe and a luttle on his pants. I made sure his pants were lighter to achieve the exact effect I saw on the card. I also shaded his pendant in this step in a very unique way since my Green pens' ink bleeds profusely.

The body was next but I didn't go all in on that. I just moved slowly so as not to cause dents on the paper and for the image capturing to be smooth.

At this point I had covered most of the body parts on the Doctor

And there was nothing left but the final touches and shadings of the previous steps.

The materials I used for this particular piece is kind of peculiar. I used a Black BIC pen for almost everything and a Green pen for his pendant.

You are more than welcome to stop by any time you feel like it. I promise to always keep you entertained with my art.
