With every passung day, I tend to appreciate life better. There is so much beauty in the world but sometimes we focus on the minor and get eaten up. Early this week I came to that realization after seeing the portrait of and Old Pilot. Looking at the picture you could tell he had so much to say about life and the world. I immediately wanted to draw him.
After going through the collection of #splinterlands cards at my disposal, I found the Dwarven Wizard. I placed them side by side saw no difference so without hesitating, I adapted it the card and came up with this.
I started the drawing with my blue pen as usual. The layout was good and I anticipated the corrections I would apply with my black pen later
The corrections didn't go quite as planned but still I was optimistic
I shaded some parts of his beard and helmet in this step, to give him an alive feel
The armor which he was wearing was another target and I tried to represent it properly in my way. You can ses that I shaded his beard band green and part of his helmet yellow. All these were falling in place and bringing to life this Dwarven Wizard
In this step I made another round with my black pen and covered spots I believed should not be
Finally I gave his eyes some treatment to make them look like flames were flying from it. I added the same effect to his background and BOOM! the Wizard came alive..
The materials I used for this particular piece is kind of peculiar. I used Black, Blue, Yellow and Green pens.
