So I had this idea for the Captain’s Ghost but if I am being honest the conjunction first came when I saw this vector. I very well knew that I could do something meaningful with such pose and after some corrections and trimmings which took about two hours spread over three days (as I was using my hands and not a pen) I arrived at a near similitude. The coloring therefore was another challenge cause my friends I asked myself the one question; how do you paint a ghost? 👻
I wanted to go with the all white but I felt it wouldn’t rhyme. I knew I could be wrong based on that assumption but I wasn’t willing to waste hours testing it. Later on I decided to use the Colour picker on the app and copy that of the reference which as you can see turned out fair.
After I had completed this exercise, I decided to implement the ghost feature by reducing the opacity. Hold up, there’s a little bit of detail I’m missing.
One was to draw a tempestuous sea and a capsizing boat in the distance with a ghost floating from it and the other was to draw the ghost amidst a ship approaching the crew.
I went with the first one though and quit while ahead leaving the ship and the ghost’s trail out.
You see, I have always complained about having difficulty with coming up with backgrounds. You can just scroll through my post and check any digital piece (especially my #splinterlands entries) and you will notice my nagging. This time, I had a bright idea, two ideas even.
The process....
I just had to show you the result of the background alone seeing how it is a feet I much admire
nice work :D
Thanks friend.
