The mention and being featured is the support. By being featured here there is additional opportunity for more artists and Hivers to swing by your post and support your content. This is not an OCD only curation, however many of the users here are curated by OCD from within this community. I thought your art deserved to be here but it feels like you only care about getting an OCD vote.
Yes for sure we all want it, it's like the numbers won't say how good or bad is the art but why not?

Numbers don't always give an accurate value to the art. Some of the best art isn't getting votes and some art that isn't so good gets super high votes all the time. So, it's more about engaging socially and growing your own audience. The more exposure the better and that's the point of these curation posts.... so that everyone can go look at each other's content and support one another!
