Hello! How are you? For this week's entry, I chose Spirit of the Forest. Just like last week, my entry was a last-minute decision. If I don't feel like drawing that character, I tend to find another one, and that one is the final character, LOL. I love the color green recently so yeah I chose her.
The Process:
For the sketch, I used my favorite brush, Marker Detail. First, I lightly sketched the proportions of the face.
For the final lineart, I still used the Marker Detail and of course, to save time I drew the final lineart to a separate layer. And by the way, I like to use dark red color for the brush.
For the next step, I used the shape fill brush to add the base color and I made sure they had their layer. To make it cleaner I adjust the stabilization of the brush my hand is kind of shaky so that's a good thing for me. heh
After I added the base colors with their respective layer and then used the airbrush soft brush to add the shades, hue, and shadow on each part. I love adding texture to the canvas so what I do is I add a fill layer and then I choose the pattern default paper and then set the blending mode to soft light and lower the opacity to 50% wahlaa!~ now I have a textured canvas.
After adding the base rendering, I then added more details to the hair I used rake bristle dry to render the hair, I tend to mess up the hair luckily I did not this time hehe. I lower the opacity of the lineart so that I can render it clearly.
I am so focused on rendering the hair that I almost forget her eyebrows I just realize when I turn the lineart opacity down. I like to add strands of hair to make the hair more realistic I use the pencil brush for that step.
For the final step, I added the background a lineart of glowing leaves to make it more lively and I added splatter light. For the final background color, I chose the red one because that is the closest that complements the green.
Thank you for visiting. See you on my next blog. :D
Please take care of your mental health as well.
