Cosmic Creations #3 | Inspired by Music

Greetings everyone, happy weekend✨️

This is the second time I'm entrying for the AAH community contest. The theme for this round is to create art inspired by music you love, as a lover of different kinds of music, I just knew I had to do something with one of my faves.

LIBIANCA - PEOPLE
This song is perfect, hook, beat, very relatable lyrics talks. She talks about depression and emphasiszes on the fact that even though people claim to know you, they actually don't because there are lots unknown private battles and empty spaces within you. I relate with and love this song so much because I've experienced low moments. Fake smiles, isolation, overthinking, zero inspiration to do anything and not taking good care of myself, lots of people have been there.

Process
My idea was to draw a girl sitting alone, the goal was to capture a quiet environment. As someone who mostly works with bright colours, picking colours for this work was a huge challenge for me. After doing the sketch which was the easiest step, I painted the environment next because it was the most important thing. I started with the cloud and water, adding details where necessary, I then painted the bush, flipped it vertically to create a reflection in the water. I then painted the wooden bridge, little water waves and three birds in the sky.

For the girl, I painted base colours for her skin, clothes, and hair. I paid more attention to her hair because depression sometimes makes you look unkept, the tangles and son loose strands. I added more details and colour to the hair, skin, clothes and also painted her reflection in the water. I also added a bit of warmth, sunrise or sunset? Can't really tell. Like sunset, low moments come to an end and like sunrise, a renewed hope that things will be okay. 🫂
