Relaxing Morning - Tarsa

Hello everyone! How are you doing today? I hope your doing well, as ways!

You can problaby guess why I havent posted in a while, this drawing took so very long, but it's done now, fun fact: I spent most my time drawing her wild hair!! So, this character is a Fire Summoner, her name is Tarsa—So, why'd I choose to draw her? Simple, I found her design super fun, its fiery energy, the colors, oh the hair is so gorgeous! But, as you problaby noticed, I didnt draw her in the outfit which she wears in the card, Instead, I drew her in a more casual, everyday outfit. After reading her story it though seems like she lives in old times, rather than modern times like I depicted in the image.

Tarsa is a wild, tempered girl, her fire powers extremly impressive and strong, and even though her parents tried teaching her to be more patient and tried to ease her temper, it didnt end up working.

The Character:

Once again, the insporation pose and coloring come from this Mafuyu Asahina card, why this one? So heres a secret....I abseloutley love pastel colors, They are so cute and bright, thats not the only reason though, the angle at which she faces is another challenge for me, I, personally, have no issue drawing side profiles, however the side / back of a body is completly different, so it was a good way to learn.

Given I have just described Tarsa as quite temperamental I should explain why I chose to draw her "calm -looking", since shes making her hair into a ponytail, she must be very focused on not messing up, also she might still be a little groggy from waking up in the morning..

↓ Progress of the Artwork ↓

↑ like always, I did this basic silluette sketch to get a basic idea of how the pose and angle should look

↑ the sketch, in order to make it easier for myself, i color coded the hair, skin, and background

↑ the lineart is thin, as always, although I didnt immediatley draw the background, instead I just drew Tarsa in the foreground

↑ it looks very bland right now, but i started by trying to color and render the skin

↑ I colored in the hair and also tried putting some more light and shadows on the skin, I also colored in her eyes which turned out very well

↑ I put some light on her hair, in an attempt to try some new techniques I learnt, I put red color on the edge of the light to make it appear more 3 dimensional

↑ I colored the clothes a color of blue since in her design I Noticed she was wearing blue overalls, and so to keep the color pallete consistent I made it that color.

↑ here you can see me shading the pants as well as the background, I picked the background colors from the inspiration image.

↑ after a long time I Finished the drawing, I tried a new shading technique along with some background excersice, Tarsa is a very gorgeous character, drawing her was fun especially her pretty hair as I mentioned before!

What do you think? Did I do good?

As always I appreciate any kind of interactions and any support!

-Yours truly

She's so pretty! Just an FYI I would recommend adding a profile picture (unless Peakd is bugging and you do have one), every time I see an account with no PFP I assume they are brand new but you have been here ages :)
