This character was incredibly fun to reimagine in my style. I wanted to capture her ethereal, almost divine presence while adding a chibi anime aesthetic. The moment I started sketching, I knew I had to emphasize her radiant energy, mystical aura, and celestial beauty. Her flowing dress, luminous gemstones, and otherworldly glow all contribute to her powerful yet charming presence.
From the very beginning, I envisioned her with a joyful, open-armed pose, as if she were embracing the energy of the cosmos. Her bright, glowing eyes, her vibrant orange hair tied up in an elegant ponytail, and the magical energy swirling around her all add to the enchanting effect. The final result is a blend of cuteness and divinity, a little chibi goddess emanating power!

Aquí comparto mis últimas creaciones y experiencias. En esta ocasión, les traigo mi más reciente fan art para el concurso de arte de Splinterlands: una versión anime de Djinn Renova.
Este personaje fue increíblemente divertido de reinterpretar. Quise capturar su presencia etérea, casi divina, mientras le daba una estética chibi anime. Desde el primer boceto, supe que debía resaltar su energía radiante, su aura mística y su belleza celestial. Su vestimenta fluida, sus gemas brillantes y su resplandor sobrenatural contribuyen a su poderoso encanto.
Desde el inicio, la imaginé con una pose alegre y de brazos abiertos, como si estuviera absorbiendo la energía del cosmos. Sus ojos brillantes y resplandecientes, su cabello anaranjado atado en una elegante coleta y la magia flotando a su alrededor crean un efecto cautivador. El resultado final es una mezcla de ternura y divinidad, ¡una pequeña diosa chibi emanando poder!
In Splinterlands, Djinn Renova is a legendary life-type monster known for her supportive and healing abilities. She is often depicted as a mystical being who channels divine energy to protect and strengthen allies. Her design is regal and celestial, adorned with golden ornaments and glowing gemstones, symbolizing her sacred power.
En Splinterlands, Djinn Renova es un monstruo legendario del tipo vida, conocido por sus habilidades de sanación y apoyo. Es una entidad mística que canaliza energía divina para proteger y fortalecer a sus aliados. Su diseño es majestuoso y celestial, con adornos dorados y gemas resplandecientes, que simbolizan su poder sagrado.
Process / Proceso
The process started with a sketch, where I focused on making her pose expressive and dynamic. I wanted her to exude warmth and energy, so I gave her an open posture, as if welcoming the light around her. I kept the lines soft and rounded to enhance the chibi style, ensuring her features were adorable but still retained her divine presence.
Once I was happy with the sketch, I moved on to the line art. This stage is always satisfying because it brings clarity to the character’s shape. I carefully refined the details of her dress, jewelry, and hair, adding elegant curves and delicate embellishments that reinforce her celestial essence.
For coloring, I focused on a vibrant palette. Her orange hair with soft pink and golden highlights gives a radiant effect, while her white and gold outfit reinforces her angelic nature. The gemstones on her forehead and belt are shaded with gradients of green and cyan, creating a magical glow.
To bring depth to the piece, I worked on shadows. Using a mix of soft and cel shading techniques, I gave volume to her hair, folds in her dress, and facial contours. This step enhances the three-dimensional feel of the artwork, making her appear more tangible despite the chibi style.
Adding highlights is always my favorite part! The luminescent glow in her eyes, the soft rim light on her hair, and the subtle sparkles on her dress make her look truly magical. I also added a delicate aura of mystical energy floating around her, reinforcing her divine presence.
For the background, I wanted something simple yet impactful. A cosmic glow behind her, with pink and purple energy bursts, adds an ethereal atmosphere, making her appear as if she’s floating in a celestial realm.
Todo comenzó con un boceto, donde me aseguré de que su pose fuera expresiva y dinámica. Quería que transmitiera calidez y energía, así que le di una postura abierta, como si estuviera recibiendo la luz a su alrededor. Manteniendo el estilo chibi, usé líneas suaves y redondeadas para realzar su ternura sin perder su esencia divina.
Una vez satisfecha con el boceto, pasé al delineado. Este paso siempre es gratificante porque da claridad a la forma del personaje. Refiné los detalles de su vestido, joyería y cabello, añadiendo curvas elegantes y adornos delicados para reforzar su esencia celestial.
Para el color, opté por una paleta vibrante. Su cabello anaranjado con reflejos dorados y rosados le da un brillo especial, mientras que su atuendo blanco y dorado refuerza su naturaleza angelical. Las gemas de su frente y cinturón tienen degradados de verde y cian, creando un efecto místico.
Luego trabajé en las sombras, aplicando una combinación de sombras suaves y cel shading. Esto permitió dar volumen a su cabello, los pliegues de su vestido y los contornos de su rostro, dándole mayor profundidad a la ilustración.
Los brillos fueron mi parte favorita. El resplandor en sus ojos, la luz en el cabello y los pequeños destellos en su vestido la hacen ver mágica. Además, agregué una aura de energía flotante a su alrededor para enfatizar su presencia divina.
Finalmente, el fondo debía ser simple pero impactante. Un brillo cósmico detrás de ella, con destellos de energía rosada y púrpura, aporta una atmósfera etérea y la hace lucir como si flotara en un reino celestial.

I absolutely loved creating this piece! Djinn Renova’s design is both majestic and adorable, making her a perfect candidate for a chibi anime transformation. Playing with the lighting and energy effects was incredibly satisfying, and I’m thrilled with how it turned out. I hope you all enjoy this fan art as much as I enjoyed making it!
