As you know peacock feathers have vibrant colors and detailed patterns. As same with all the other nature elements, this one is also a spectacular one. But what happens when you add a layer of abstraction? And maybe how to add it first of all? I took a simple peacock feather and placed it behind a curved glass vase, assuming the distortion of light would create strange effects. I believe it brought an interesting new visual experience.
The result was a kaleidoscope of colors and shapes, with the feather’s signature eye-like pattern stretched, distorted and blurred in simple but interesting ways. The refracted light seemed to animate the feather, blending its organic texture with the bending on glass. This interplay between the natural and the artificial added a surreal feeling to the already mesmerizing beauty of the peacock feather.
Later on, as I kept staring at the distorted shape behind the glass, I had a feeling that an "eye" was watching me. It wasn’t just a refraction I thought rather it felt alive, as though the feather had transformed into an opening that invites spectators. I looked closer, and for a moment, the eye blinked. My heart raced as I jumped back, being hypnotized. The colors started to swirl, which resulted in strange forms and shapes. I couldn’t understand what was going on.
And then, I heard a whisper, "Do you seek the secrets of the unseen?" The room went darker, and the glass vase seemed to melt down. The eye hovered above the remnants of the vase. It called me to come forward, offering wonders and dangers beyond imagination. First I hesitated, I was unsure if it was a dream or I was stepping into something. But curiosity captivated me, and with one final look at the room, I reached out to touch the eye, ready to start a new journey.
All the best...
