I was so motivated last week with getting back to the art of surrealism that I pushed myself to make more, I think the brain is like a muscle the more you use it the easier it is to get better results.
I don't know why I love portraits but I love how artists have this hability to capture the esence of a person. That's why I would like to make more portrait art.
Today I made a "broccoli person" I mixed two concepts, the inspiration for this digital painting is very funny, it started like everything in my life lately with a meme (of course) people say that the generation Z uses this haircut in the shape of a "broccoli", they even get perms and everything, it's a whole thing apprently.
I find that hilarious because when I first heard it I imagined a LITERAL green broccoli in the head and that's where surrealism comes to life!
I found this reddit thread about that

PROCESS
As always I like to start making the elegant cloths, an also for this particular portrait I added a giant fork because why not? Since it's a literal broccoli he might be posing with one! And it will look like those old aristocrats portraits where they hold something that represents them.

So for this broccoli person a fork represents him perfectly because he will look very yummy at the end 🤣 you'll see ! lol
After that it was time to look for a reference of a broccoli, so I found this image
It wasn't exactly fitting the concept of the haircut, for the long stem, so that was perfect because the more surreal the better because the funnier would be the result! That's something that I lile about art you can start with something and then for no reason whatsoever change it, so I used it and made a collage with that!
Making the face was a struggle because like a said , I wasn't expecting a long stem broccoli image so I tried to make a face in a funny comic style, and that finally was fitting perfectly!
I make the face like a giga chad broccoli with a strong jawline, very comic like, I like to experiment with different styles, this time I used the tool "rapidografo" on Autodesk sketchbook.
So that made it look like an anime/manga aesthetic, it reminded me of Jojo's bizarre adventure for some reason.
So to fit that Jojo's look I painted the cloths in a radiant purple and the background like a fire type of yellow.
It ended up looking like a buff anime character!
It was perfect! I didn't expected that so it was a really good surprise!
To finish it I put the image on the app called pixlr to put filters on it
I USED TWO FILTERS SOPHIA AND HAGRID
Finally I framed it and it really ended up looking like a manga, the aura is insane on this one ! 😆
So that was all for today's blog! It was really fun to make this portrait, it's different from my previous work, I will keep pushing myself to get better in surrealism because it's something that I'm really passionate about, so I hope to come up with new crazy ideas in the next few
days! Stay tuned for more surreal art!
Until next time

Fancy Brocolli
Fashionista 😂
According to the Swedish plate model, broccoli is very healthy. You could sell your creation as an advertisement for broccoli. A beautiful creation!
Good idea! I didn't know that, thanks! I will look into it, I would love to make animations with character design , that would be my dream job! Thanks for the motivation!
