Splinterlands Fan Art: Runeseer Sevaya. Weekly Art Contest.

in Alien Art Hive8 months ago (edited)

Hello Everyone

How are you?

I hope you're doing well and leading a sound life. I will bring you another one of my artwork today. This one is also a digital drawing fan art of a monster of Splinterlands. I drew this one to participate in the weekly art contest arranged by @splinterlands. I'll add the link to the contest at the end. Check it out if you feel interested. In this post, I'll share my drawing process, my tools and how I drew a fan art version of the original card quite different from the original. I hope you like my version.

The monster I drew today is named Runeseer Sevaya. I used my laptop, graphics tablet, stylus drawing touch pen, and a drawing software named ibis Paint. I'll attach my drawing and the original image below and you can check it out. I'll also add the link to the contest at the end of my post. So, let's get started:-

My Drawing

To begin the drawing, I first made a basic sketch of the structure using a 2B pencil. Then I used an HB and a 4B pencil to draw the bold lines and the scribbling parts of the drawing. The bold lines were to mark out the borderlines of the drawing and the scribble lines were to draw the details of the sketch.

Then began the colouring process. I first put on the primary colour of the drawing using the spray brush tool. In this whole process, I mostly used the spray brush tool. I learned this new process recently and trying to apply it as best as I can. using this spray brush tool makes the blending process of the drawing easy. Normally, when I use normal colour tools, I have to use transparency tools and blending tools to blend in all the colours. This turns the artistic process into more of a technical process and I don't like doing that. That's why I'm using this process.

So, after adding the main colour I used the spray brush tool to put the darker version of the same colour focusing on her eyes and forehead area. And don't worry about the colour leaking out of the border area. The app comes with many options that make these problems disappear in no time. You can choose the borderline to limit the colour spread.

And then I drew her eyes and lips. I didn't use spray paint this time and instead of that, I used oil color brushes to make the eyes look shining and sharp. I did the same with her lips too. I also used a smooth oil brush and the blending tools a little bit to finalize the texture of her facial skin and I think it's looking good.

Then I started drawing her hair. For this, I took a smooth brush and watercolour mood and drew some strokes following the shape of her hair area. After that, I used a pen tool and white colour to draw the strokes that would represent her hair. I kept it simple but will give it a retouch in the last steps.

Then I began the process of colouring her dresses. I began by putting the primary colour on her clothes, hat and horns. I then erased those sketch marks one by one and started working on making the colour layer smooth. I used smooth white strokes using the spray brush tool to make the parts look shining and smooth. I began with her horns and hat. Then I worked on the skin tone of her hand and chest too.

And then in this step, I finished the drawing of her dress. I first finished the shading of the chest part of her dress. Then I drew her cloak and started the shading process. I didn't go for much-complicated shading. I added the white spray and dark lines to visualize the curves of her cloak. To design the edges, I put a colouring line on it. I first added yellow lines on the edges and then overlapped the lines with red and orange colours. I did the same with her hat. I also added a simple white design on her dress too.

After some colour enhancement, a few touches of the brush and the added background. Here's the final image:-
