Hi guys! This is my entry of the week to the splinterlands art contest.
And today I want to present you my version of Medusa, a creature in the shape of a woman, but with snakes instead of hair, plus a long snake tail.
In the splinterlands universe Medusa is a gorgon that dwells in the waters of AZMARÉ, she is the only one of the gorgons that does not turn to stone those who dare to look at her. Unlike the Medusa of Greek mythology who is described as a monstrous creature, who turns to stone those who look directly into her eyes.
¡Hola chicos! Esta es mi entrada de la semana al concurso de arte de splinterlands.
Y hoy quiero presentarles mi versión de Medusa, una criatura con forma de mujer, pero con serpientes en lugar de cabello, además de una larga cola igualmente de serpiente.
En el universo de splinterlands Medusa es una gorgona que habita en las aguas de AZMARÉ, es la única de las gorgonas que no convierte en piedra a quienes se atreven a mirarla. A diferencia de la Medusa de la mitologia griega quien es descrita como una criatura monstruosa, que convierte en piedra a quienes la miran directamente a los ojos.
To create my version of Medusa, I used the pixel art technique, on a canvas of 103x103 pixels. I started with the creation of the sketch, represented by the figure of a woman, with numerous snakes on her head.
Para crear mi versión de Medusa, usé la técnica del pixeles art, sobre un lienzo de 103x103 pixeles. Inicié con la creacion del boceto, representado por la figura de una mujer, con numerosas serpientes en su cabeza.
Then I applied the base color, taking as always as a reference the color palette of the original and on this base I start to work the shading and lighting, all this part by part.
As I show you below in this gif that I prepared.
Posteriormente apliqué la base de color, tomando como siempre de referencia la paleta de colores del original y sobre esta base comienzo a trabajar el sombreado y la iluminación, todo esto parte por parte.
Asi como les muestro a continuación en este gif que preparé.
The illustration of the character's body covered almost the entire canvas, so for the background I added nothing but two colors.
La ilustración del cuerpo del personaje abarco casi en su totalidad el lienzo, asi que para el fondo no agregué nada mas que dos colores.
