This week, I created a fanart of Aquatus for Splinterlands Art Contest Week 328. The journey of bringing this character to life on my canvas has been exciting and enriching, and I am happy to share that experience with you.
Aquatus is a powerful water warrior whose bright colors, powerful body, and fine details have fascinated me. However, as an artist, I always want to add a personal touch to my works. So, instead of just replicating Aquatus, I tried to reimagine him with my own vision.
First, I analyzed his original artwork in detail. I looked closely at every detail, from his glowing mark to his powerful trident. Then, I created a preliminary concept in Illustrator. My goal was to keep Aquatus's core features and make him more vibrant and lively.
In the next step, I worked on his skin texture and glowing markings. I made his trident design a little sharper and more patterned, so that it fits his personality. As a background, I created a deep sea environment, where soft lighting and the play of waves make Aquatus even more mysterious.
While finishing this project, I felt that my artwork is a tribute to Aquatus and a reflection of my creative journey. Participating in the Splinterlands Art Contest is always a fulfilling experience for me. It not only challenges my creative boundaries, but also connects me with a talented community.
