Hello, Splinterlands fans.
I hope you’re having a fantastic week. Today, I’m excited to share my latest artwork for Splinterlands Art Contest Week 324. For this piece, I wanted to create a magical character who feels both powerful and awe-inspiring, and I’m really happy with how it turned out.
I was initially wondering how to draw that magical feeling of Grandmaster Rathe. My main goal was to keep his power and confident posture. First I did a rough sketch where I fixed his pose and expression—an expression that would make him calm but at the same time strong and powerful. After the sketch, the line drawing and detailing started. Drawing his iconic outfit, armor, and that long cape was quite challenging. But as time went on, the art became more and more interesting. I paid special attention to the folds of the cape and the shining details of the armor because these are the little things that bring a character to life.
While coloring, I wanted to bring a beautiful mix of bright magic and mystery. I used a glowing green effect around the hands and around the entire character to make it look like he is really using his magical powers. These colors stand out beautifully against the black background. I also added light sparkles and light and shadow effects to make the whole art look more dynamic and magical.
I created the entire artwork in Illustrator. The glow effect and smooth light transitions took a long time, but in the end I am very happy to be able to create such a version of Grandmaster Rathe.
I enjoyed making this art a lot and I hope you like my Grandmaster Rathe fan art. Don't forget to give your feedback though . Thank you all for taking the time to look at the art. I will be back with more new artworks in the future.
