¡Hi! ¡Hiver friend!
It's a pleasure to know you're stopping by again!
This drawing is based on a curious flower that I saw on the Internet and that I could use as a reference for this great work.
🌿 Inspiration 🌿
I was strolling through the beginning of my Facebook as usual, I always see pictures of flowers and other plants among the memes since I usually like them and these images and their pages are usually highly recommended to me.
At that moment there was one that caught my attention, it was quite curious and although I already had another one saved to use as a guide for a similar work, I took advantage of the moment of rest to be able to draw it.
The shape of the flower; that it is an orchid, was very suitable for what I had come up with, it was easily acceptable as a pareidolia so my brain didn't really struggle too much.
The upper leaf looked like her hair while the central part of it had a shape that together with the differentiated colors between green and yellow gave the appearance of eyes.
Once I finished, I began to outline.
⚜️ The Process ⚜️
I clarify as always that this drawing has the dimensions of 15,2cmX9,5cm.
I started by simply coloring his eyes, one of my favorite parts, it would not be difficult to define the color of these since the photo itself gave me the range of colors to use.
The sclerae would be green.
After illuminating with a bit of yellow I moved on to his nose, which was intended to be shaped like a sword or something similar, the first choice had been, actually, to have it be shaped like an eagle's beak.
Although it could be said to be a combination of both.
The iris would be brown, a color that would obviously stand out among the green.
I brightened the brown color with some cream color and proceeded to color her face which would have a combination of orange, yellow and green.
The shadows under his cheekbones and eyelids make me think of him more as an alien than a fairy or elf, although it may well be a combination of both.
A reptilian alien fairy...
I placed these little lines and dots on the face that were like freckles and simulated the spots on the original flower, it was quite satisfying to do.
The "necklace" or "collar" of her outfit; which is actually part of it according to my idea, was a gradient between orange, yellow and green, leaving its respective lighting and shading it with a darker green to finally end up adding more freckles on top of it.
I moved on to focus on the gem on his forehead, which was particularly simple as it was just a green albeit illuminated and nuanced.
And the hair which; following the general color palette, would be various shades of yellow and green.
And some touches of blue.
The leaves on the sides, which I imagine would be his shoulder pads, I colored them with a duller base green, making lines to give texture to the leaf.
In addition to shading.
The idea of forming her body was tempting but at the same time it was not what I was looking for, so I began to color this area that I had recently delimited with a triangular figure.
I used turquoise and brown.
Already knowing that I would not draw the body of this Martian, I preferred to make various figures with lines and so on, which would fit in very well.
I was very nervous about adding blue and purple to the palette as it were, but what was done was done.
In short, pointillism could not be missing, it is always a nice touch in my oracles.
After this I moved to the top, where the leaf-shaped hood and the gems were, which I would begin to color with orange and yellow.
From there I proceeded to paint the leaf which was to be obviously green and bright.
The shadow was blue and the green was illuminated with yellow at the edge.
I went down again and this time I made these figures with brown marker on the bottom because for some reason the blue and purple didn't suit me and I needed to dull them in some way.
With that small problem partially solved I decided to concentrate on the rest of the background.
At first I thought of a purple night sky, descending to pink but what if it didn't look right? What if it was the same as blue and purple? Well I was going to find out because I was going to do it anyway.
And the truth is that this time I loved the result, it made the green look more eye-catching and highlighting.
I also added some pointillism in this area.
And almost finished, I used some white paint to lighten some parts and give a better finish to the gems.
Also use the same to make some small clouds.
Finally, I just had to outline some parts again with pen, mainly those that had been covered with paint.
And now I could say it was over.
Thank you for reading this, see you in my next post where I will be able to share with you some more of my illustrations.

¡Hola! ¡Amigo hiver!
