This series of 3 animation stands independently but can be seen as a small overture for the soon to be released “2084” series. The “Triptych of the Architects” deals with the theme described below and represents a triptych whose individual images may stand alone, but as a whole reflect the flying sparks of Satoshi Nakamoto’s fire on Vitalik Buterin and the creation of Ethereum. It will be released on the trending NFT gallery platform NIFTY GATEWAY on the 6th of August 2020.
The chain of inspiration
A fascinating fact about us human beings is the extent to which we influence each other in our development; that our actions and our work can become the cause of an act of procreation, which in turn produces something new. We see it in literature when writers, inspired by books written by older authors, create a new piece of work or when a certain style adoption is simply recognizable. We see it in the visual arts, where artists incorporate elements and ideas into their new work through paintings or an entire oeuvre by another master. Or we see it in science, in which avant-gardists such as Sigmund Freud, for example, trigger a whole wave of offspring who rethink, supplement or newly develop the older ideas.
All the Titans, no matter from which realm they come, stand on the shoulders of Titans, who in turn stand on the shoulders of Titans. An endless chain of inspiration. The man lights a fire in his creation… often a spark flies away and inspires another human being. Sometimes an inferno is created.
The invention of Bitcoin and Blockchain was a trigger for such an inferno. The result was the development of a heterogeneous social system, which nevertheless had and still has a common denominator. In a purely technical sense, the foundations were reconsidered, expanded, supplemented and new things developed. One of these developments was Ethereum — the basis for our small but not to be underestimated ART REVOLUTION.
Today — a decade after the birth of the blockchain — we are at a point where, especially through the development of Ethereum, adaptation is growing and growing in various areas of life. The sparks of the fire reached many developers and creative minds… The “Triptych of Architects” is dedicated to all of them, but in particular of course to Satoshi Nakamoto and Vitalik Buterin.
I. THE ARCHITECT
The picture symbolizes the beginning of a new era and the successful invention of a new independent and decentralized system — BITCOIN. In the foreground is the mysterious figure of Satoshi Nakamoto; the architect sitting on a technical throne. The thoughtful way he sits on it reflects his socio-critical stance, which mainly refers to central networks, the government and especially the financial world and banks. This inner attitude can be seen, for example, in the following quotations:
»The root problem with conventional currency is all the trust that’s required to make it work. The central bank must be trusted not to debase the currency, but the history of fiat currencies is full of breaches of that trust. Banks must be trusted to hold our money and transfer it electronically, but they lend it out in waves of credit bubbles with barely a fraction in reserve. We have to trust them with our privacy, trust them not to let identity thieves drain our accounts.« SOURCE
»Yes, [we will not find a solution to political problems in cryptography,] but we can win a major battle in the arms race and gain a new territory of freedom for several years. Governments are good at cutting off the heads of a centrally controlled networks like Napster, but pure P2P networks like Gnutella and Tor seem to be holding their own.« SOURCE
Freedom, privacy and a trustless system that brings security to all are symbolized here by the representation of the eyes. The code, a mathematical cryptographic framework secures the original intention. Satoshi sits here like an emperor, a conqueror, who with activity, willpower and skills has created the necessary structure to achieve his goals. It is an image of a victor who radiates dominance and sovereignty in a majestic garment. He is the supreme authority of a movement and in a certain way fulfills the archetype of a fatherly figure. Satoshi is the first great architect of the Blockchain.
II. A spark ignites a new fire

It was only a matter of time before this ingenious concept and project spread. The radius of the impact increased and at some point in history the moment came when Satoshi’s whitepaper also reached Vitalik Buterin. I don’t know exactly how the story unfolded, but from an interview in which Vitalik talks about his time as a writer and editor and about the plans arising in him, one could see a certain glow in his eyes. It was passion. It was enthusiasm. It seemed as if a call of destiny had gripped him. The spark of fire had reached him. I almost wanted to call this picture “a romance between developers” — that’s how much Vitalik seemed to be taken by the whole idea of decentralization.
Consequently, the representation of the handshake is not a trial of strength; it is not a conflict. It is the representation of an unspoken connection; of inspiration and cooperation without direct encounter. A human being stepped on the shoulders of a Titan…
III. sHe caught a unicorn
…and became a titan himself. As a central leading figure, Vitalik (together with his team) succeeded in founding a start-up which became a “unicorn” (in the economic sense). Ethereum became a great success and Vitalik managed to catch a unicorn. The spark became a fire. This fact was illustrated in this third and last work with a proper breeze from the world of crypto memes. Of course, there are still some flaws to be corrected and milestones to be set for the project, but the look of the figure depicted here shows — certainty of victory and the conviction that all further development will lead to a positive future.
