Moon V Marvel 62

The Real Superheroines of Hive Valley

a webcomic, by Matt S. Law

I quit architecture school because I hate drawing interiors of rooms and buildings. Especially stairs. You can tell where I just quit drawing the vertical edges and just said, "Ahhh. this is good enough."

I probably could have avoided the stairs problem just by making Mary's bedroom on the ground floor. In fact, now that I think about it, it was on the ground floor in the Bloody Mary episode when the mansion is getting destroyed and Phantom Lady is banging her on the face with a Stark Tech repulsor hammer trying to wake her up. Of course, then they had to rebuild the mansion, so maybe her new room is upstairs. The downstairs should be all common areas. Except of course for the ground floor of the Phantom Wing and the Fury Wing.

Boilerplate:
The Real Superheroines of Hive Valley is a webcomic about a reality television show following the lives of seven public domain superheroines that all live together in the same mansion in the elite community of Hive Valley.

You can read the series from the beginning ---> HERE.

Created in Clip Studio Paint Pro on my mobile art studio which is a Microsoft Surface Pro 7+. Here is the time lapse video:

Sort:

I quit architecture school because Americans design really ugly boxes with no soul.

I can draw interiors really easy, its the people that are hard, because i do not know where to stop with the details. I still do not know how to draw hair as a lump, i drew them by shading every single strand.

It is interesting the details you choose to drop.

I do like minimalism. Helps my output rate. :)

Ah, I see where you gave up on those edges. You need an 'AI bot' to do the details for you.

There are actually tools to import 3-D models of areas. They can be turned, zoomed and all kinds of cool stuff. In theory, they are supposed to show a framework so that the artist can use it as a guide, but I've found they are already way more detailed than anything I would draw. Let me dig through my archive and find one... a-ha! here's one from 2022.

Of course then the problem is the background looks so much more real than that cartoon lady...

All that stuff is moving so fast. I guess you could tell it how 'cartoony' to draw things. It's happening with music too where you can generate tracks from a prompt.
