From Sketch to Digital to AI: Evolving My Art Step by Step

I’ve been diving deeper into my creativity lately, experimenting with different ways to evolve my artwork. I love traditional drawing (even if I'm not the best at it), but I also wanted to see how AI could help me reinterpret my ideas.

This journey took me through multiple stages:
✏️ Hand-drawn sketches → 🖼 AI-enhanced reimaginings
🎨 My own digital artwork → 🚀 AI-generated transformations

I wanted to see how AI could expand on what I created while still keeping my original vision intact. Each step taught me something new about my own artistic process, and I’m excited to share it with you!

Phase 1: Sketch to AI Art

Lunar Lilith - My Original Sketch

I started with a hand-drawn concept of Lunar Lilith, a cosmic vampiress with curved ram horns, a long flowing veil, and an eerie, supernatural presence.

Lunar Lilith - AI Reimagination

I wanted AI to expand on my idea, keeping the dark celestial essence but adding more cosmic details and energy.

The result? A fierce entity, with glowing eyes, dark cosmic mist, and deep nebula-like energy surrounding her.

Mother Mars - My Original Sketch

Next, I drew Mother Mars, an extraterrestrial version of the Virgin Mary, standing with a divine presence, her single all-seeing eye radiating wisdom.

Mother Mars - AI Reimagination

I described how I wanted the AI to enhance her celestial aura, keeping her ethereal nature but with a more radiant divine glow.

The AI created a cosmic figure, blending Martian landscapes with celestial holiness.

Phase 2: Digital Art to AI Art

After seeing how AI transformed my sketches, I wanted to take things a step further. I had already created fully digital versions and wanted to see where AI could take me using those.

Lunar Lilith - My Digital Artwork

For my digital version of Lunar Lilith, added bloodied fangs, and created a deep red cosmic atmosphere to give her a more intense presence but also because mars is currently my favorite planet.

Lunar Lilith - AI Reimagination

I wanted AI to push the supernatural elements while keeping my original character design. The result?

A more detailed and immersive version, filled with celestial energy, glowing ethereal hands, and a spaceborne aura.

Mother Mars - My Digital Artwork

For my digital version of Mother Mars, I focused on making her look regal, draped in flowing blue coverings, standing on the surface of Mars under a cosmic sky.

I then asked AI to amplify her divine energy, and the result was stunning—her halo radiates celestial light, and her veil shimmers like the cosmos itself.

Final Thoughts: What I Learned from This Process

This entire experience showed me that AI isn’t a replacement for creativity—it’s a tool that can amplify it. Every step of this process was guided by my original ideas, and AI simply added extra depth, texture, and energy to what I had already envisioned.

I love how this experiment allowed me to see my creations in a completely new way, and I’m excited to keep learning, evolving, and experimenting with different styles! I do wonder if I will ever be able to get the same results on my own using different digital art programs. I plan to continue to learn different digital processes. While the ai art was cool to see, I think I will stick to my own style a little longer. Im also going to apologize for using images I have shared here before but I figured since I was using them as references that it would be ok.

What are your thoughts on blending traditional, digital, and AI art? I could also use some tips on different process or programs to try while I am experimenting with digital art. Let me know in the comments! Thank you!

I am also struggling to get the cover image i want for my post, if anyone can give me tips on how to fix it that would be great. I choose the image but for some reason that isn't the image that show, instead the first image of the post is what shows. I have tried adding the image I want as the cover first in my post and that still hasn't worked. I'm not sure what I am doing wrong...
