Hello dear Alien Art Crew, Hive Community and Splinterlands Fans,
Well, friends of the sun? (in german people say something like that 😅 I wanted to try to translate it) I hope you're doing well so far. As I have been and will be a bit busy, I apologize for the irregular posting. Since I'm trying hard with my drawings, I don't want to scribble anything down, but consciously think about it. Hence today's title "Raa in Private", because my idea behind it was that Raa certainly has a "normal" Splinterlands day, a free one, on which he listens to music, relaxes and is not on 180 for once. (Again more a german phrase tried to translate 😅) Such days also help to give him full power when fighting. I therefore chose the hoodie and the headphones because it shows this character in a more human way. I experimented a bit and created Raa sometimes with black eye sockets, sometimes with red and white eyes and once with more human eyes.

Hallo liebe Alien Crew, Hive Gemeinde und Splinterlands Fans,
Na, Freunde der Sonne? Ich hoffe euch geht es gut soweit. Da ich etwas beschäftigt war und sein werde bitte ich um Entschuldigung für das unregelmäßige posten. Da ich mir Mühe gebe bei meinen Zeichnungen will ich nicht irgendwas hinkritzeln, sondern mir bewusst überlegen. Daher heute auch der Titel "Raa in Privat", denn meine Idee dahinter war, dass Raa sicherlich auch mal einen "normalen" Splinterlands Tag hat, einen freien, an dem er Musik hört, sich entspannt und mal nicht auf 180 ist. Solche Tage helfen auch diesem volle Power beim kämpfen zu geben. Ich wählte daher den Hoodie und die Kopfhörer, da es diesen Charakter menschlicher zeigt. Auf habe ich etwas rum experimentiert und Raa mal mit schwarzen Augenhöhlen, mal mit rot-weißen und einmal mit eher menschlichen Augen kreiert.
Ich hoffe euch gefällt meine Idee.

Even though skulls look really easy to paint, I find it a challenge. At the beginning, my sketch didn't look promising. But I still managed a little.
Auch wenn Totenköpfe an sich echt leicht aussehen zu malen, ich finde es eine Herausforderung. Am Anfang sah meine Skizze nicht vielversprechend aus. Aber ein bisschen ging noch.
With the hoodie as a modern version of Raa's usual cape and the headphones, I was able to improve my sketch. Whew, I could really practice drawing skeletons and skulls again. A good reminder thanks to the splinterlands contest.
Mit dem Hoodie als moderne Variante zu Raa's sonstigem Umhang und den Kopfhörern hab ich meine Skizze aufbessern können. Uff, ich könnte echt Skelette und Totenköpfe mal als Zeichentraining wieder üben. Dank dem splinterlands Contest eine gute Erinnerung.
Then I started on the shadings and the background. Despite a day of rest, which Raa should be allowed, I wanted to create a dark environment. I did this on several levels in order to better correct mistakes.
Danach machte ich mich an die Schattierungen und den Hintergrund. Trotz eines Ruhetages, welcher Raa gegönnt sein soll, wollte ich eine düstere Umgebung erschaffen. Dieses auf mehreren Ebenen, um Fehler besser auszubessern.
I finally got around to coloring. I use the "gap detection tool", also known as the fill-in tool.
My color choice was rather bold at the beginning, in the end I took the intensity out a bit because it was too bold for me. But I wanted Raa to be more colorful as a contrast to the dark background.
I then tried to create slightly human eyes for Raa, which looked a bit funny.
Endlich kam ich zum ausmalen. Dazu nutze ich das "Lückenerkennungs-Tool" oder auch Ausfüllwerkzeug genannt.
Meine Farbwahl viel am Anfang eher kräftig aus, am Ende habe ich die Intensität etwas rausgenommen, da es mir selbst zu kräftig war. Doch wollte ich Raa als Kontrast zum düsteren Hintergrund eher Farbenfroh haben.
Ich versuchte Raa dann leicht menschliche Augen zu kreieren, was ein wenig lustig aussah.
I used one layer for the color. I also made the variant with the red and white eyes.
Ich nutze eine Ebene für die Farbe. Auch machte ich die Variante mit den rot-weißen Augen noch.
Here at the end I experimented and tried out variations. I use these as a delicacy for my gif.
Hier am Ende experimentierte bzw. probierte ich Variationen aus. Diese nutze ich als Schmankerl für mein Gif.
