Hi everyone once again we are on Day 18 of my daily pixelart challenge ! as the days go by I start to rethink what exactly I want to draw the next day and it becomes a process of pre-planning, I usually see things and think "ohh I want to do my own version of this" from a water bottle, to a prairie, so it is important for me to get out and spend time in nature, see animals moving, rain falling and water running.
for today i thought it could be a good idea to start my series of pixel girls and start making a nft collection of pixelart girls in my style, so this will be one of the many I will make in the future, all with animations, to be used as a profile picture.
so today's theme was :
- girl
- caramel/ brown
- nft
- profile pic
lets start! sketch
I start with a basic sketch of the pose that I relatively wanted... it took a while because I couldn't help but think that it would be confusing to look, like if she was facing forward with her neck in an awkward position so as I worked on it I did my best to make it look like she was looking over the shoulder.
clean lines
on top of the sketch I start to work the clean lines (the lineart in fact) that are nothing more than hundreds of pixels that to look fluid and clean must be very well counted and distributed... the pixelart is not to throw a bunch of random lines on the canvas and that's it, or to make cubes... in fact that's what the sketch is for, but once the sketch is finished ideally cleaner lines are fixed or drawn on top of the sketch, the sketch is the guide to start working cleanly is the distribution of where each thing is going to be, what size or even color, I've seen sketches that include the use of color to give a reference of what more or less could be the final result.
lineart done
i changed the lineart color to some purple/blueish color so it doesnt feel like a pain in my eyes to work with.
time for some eyelashes on a separate layer
and eyes are done !
some base for the skin color
start placing the shadows and adding dimension to the face
once face is done i start working with the hair color
i did the shadows with an overlay option, and a darker color using multiply option
close up to the eyes work and colors
i worked with a simple 1 color background and added some highlights
and thats prety it C:
if you would like to have a pixelart version of yourself or you are interested in developing characters for videogames don't hesitate to contact me ;3 for I only have 2 more slots available for this month.
