When the legions of Chaos invaded the Splinterlands, the ranger Riklauniman Adrin’eth joined the crew of the Jewel of Lyveria and sailed on Praetoria to stop them. The Jewel was just one ship among many from splinters across the world, a massive armada united in defense of their home.

They lost. Badly. Riklauniman was one of the few survivors.

He returned to Lyveria a hero, although he didn't feel like one. The late King Wilhelm offered him viceroyalty of a shire. Instead, Riklauniman returned to Praetoria with a contingent of elite rangers, where they carried out ambushes, sabotages, raids, and other hit-and-run tactics against the Chaos Empire.

They joined with Bera Dallin and her compatriots and opened the portal that brought the Riftwatchers to the Splinterlands. And for the last five years, Riklauniman and his allies have fought from the fringes, whittling away at the empire’s infrastructure and operations while training the oppressed to fight back against their oppressors.

Jaoken. Bryla. All the other rangers—friends—he’d lost along the way. And Captain Alatariel Kestrel, the woman that might have been his in another life. He has sworn to fight to his last breath to avenge them all.

Now, as the seeds of revolution take root, Riklauniman Adrin’eth does all he can to ensure they spread and flourish. And when at last he stands across the battlefield from Silus of the Rift, he will let loose with his arrows, and he will end the man once and for all.
