i caught notice of a crocotile jam on twitter by the creator of crocotile.
i used this event as motivation to learn how to rig and animate a 3d human figure i had been working on.
i took upon the goal to animate the guy doing a kickflip.
this was a sweet learning process as i embark on my quest of becoming a 3d modeler. soon i will shift to blender and begin learning that interface to level up my 3d art skills. my plan is to get into architecture modeling as a lucrative venture.
it was hard to get the amination to record correctly for the rotational 3d render function in crocotile. i appreciated the help i did get from the alex and the other people in the crocotile discord.
first, i had the guy looking like me. a white guy wearing a thrasher shirt black pants and slip ons.
the board is red. boards should always be mostly red lol.
i was really happy with how i made the trucks look, using only 2 colors.
for the jam, i decided to chaneg the skin of the guy to a skeleton. the theme was Monsters Day Off and the jam started on holloween. so it was about what monsters do for fun when its their day off.
i just pulled the tileset into pro create and sketched up a skeleton in under and hour and it looked awesome when i slapped it on the 3d model.
here is a link to the crocotile jam submission i made.

animating 3d is easier than 2d. its like playing with an action figure. its so cool how it reminds me of how i used to make scenes and play with action figures as a kid.
Great 3D animation. It's interesting how you need to pay attention to the position of the limbs and how they change over time. Tricky stuff.
thanks for the comment. the creator of crocotile mentioned mine as one of his favorites from the entries. maybe im talented at it. im going to keep making these, and see. thanks again
Wow, you are very good at animation. The animation is very lively.
Definitely better the skeleton than the starting one... The movement seems correct tough... You could try unreal engine for animations
yeah it will be exciting to eventually get into that stuff
The animated man is skating very nicely. Very good job. You showed another side of your drawing skills.
