studio Update 121 --- RageQuit NFTs --- an art collection on base network I made

in Alien Art Hive18 days ago (edited)

hola,

the skatehive NFTs were launched and look good on nouns.build. the lead developer of nouns.build who also has a hive account, @caliber54, saw my work and reached out to me to make an NFT series called RageQuit.

These are generative NFTs, so the ethereum blockchain number determines how the different layers of traits get assembled, kinda like a Mr. Potato head.

animation i made without the backgrounds showing some of the heads, body, mouths, and faces

The blockchain creates the randomized artwork, and the user bids on it. the money from the auction goes into a treasury where the holders of the NFTs can then write proposals to the DAO for uses of the funds. It will be interesting to see what kind of proposals RageQuit funds.

The nouns.build project itself is really cool. it allows pretty much anyone to create a DAO. imagine how cool this would be on hive. If alien Art Hive had a platform for this, would be insane.

The code is all open source too so its not that crazy to imagine.

each folder contains a different number of layers that the computer assembles each time an NFT is created.

As an artist i find this kind of generative art pretty interesting. its always a surprise to see what it makes.

im just going to drop some of the layers here so you can see them. I drew them all on an ipad.

Very beautiful process, this art is very difficult to make. Amazing Art

Hey @web-gnar, that's some cool art! I’m curious about something though. I noticed you prominently upvoted comments mentioning that the Ethgard Legends airdrop is 1.) outside of Hive and 2.) costs gas fees to claim.

Given that your designed NFT is on Base, which is 1.) outside of Hive and 2.) costs gas fees to mint, I’m wondering - where do you see the difference?

The nouns.build project itself is really cool. it allows pretty much anyone to create a DAO. imagine how cool this would be on hive. If alien Art Hive had a platform for this, would be insane.

Yes, it would be optimal if Hive supported something like this directly, but it currently doesn’t — unless you’re willing to build the DAO functionality yourself with multi-sig, which opens up a whole new set of problems.

The difference is he doesn't milk hive down to the last penny while being a top - 20 witness. Leech

Ragequit at least uses BASE network- the gas fee is a penny. yours is on mainnet right? maybe you should have considered using base before proposing it to the hive crowd

No, it's using B3, which is an L2 on Base (L3 on Eth)

well then it shouldnt be too much of a problem

Hahaha the name is good for sure, so are the combos you can compose
